center stand

I just purchased my trike recently and the other day I was just looking round on it and notice the centerstand was still on the trike. While I know it is not needed, my question is does it pose any threats as it is still there? The reason I ask I know of two other trikes and the stands were removed.

I kept mine on and actually used it for welding two braces to the trike kit for added stability.

I still have my center-stand and no running boards.Some installers will leave the center stand on if you don't get the running boards and it has to be removed for the boards.
I have used my center stand many times instead of using my lift.
Removed both rear wheels for checking brakes and doing some exhaust mods,etc.Put on c-stand,and use a small jack under hitch bar and raise just enough for clearence under tires.No lift needed.Changing front tire.Put on c-stand and front wheel will already be high enough from ground to change front wheel.No lift needed.
Don't remove the c-stand or you will need access to a lift or some way to get the bike off the ground.
I find my center-stand very handy for many things.

The center stand is still on our Champion trike we got this past October, but who ever installed the kit (in 2006 according to the serial # sticker ) cut the arm off that you step on to lower it. Have no idea why. The rest of the stand is whole, there is just nothing to step on to lower it.

If you don't have running boards installed keep the center stand. You can use it when doing maintenance as a lifting point. I would keep it, if it were me. You can always take it off later. Center stand does not have much of a resale value.
