I converted my 2007 Sportster. I tell them the truth nearly 30k.
I agree with Big Al. If they are sincere in their question, I will gladly tell them what they could own it for today. Everything I own is for sale. We're just negotiating the price.

I tell them how much I paid for mine, then tell them approximately how much it would cost to convert their 2 wheeler to 3.
The question usually only comes from those people really interested in owning one...why not help to convrt them?
Cheers,
Tomboy
I tell most people who are actually interested others not so much.
I get a lot of question though
I usually tell them $16-17k, but then I explain that mine was triked factory - the price differs if they trike a mc, and depends on kit, labor, etc. I've found most people who've asked me are generally other bikers, so they may be thinking about their future rides.

I tell them that my Trike & trailer costs between $40.000 & $50,000 and it's worth every dime of it!

Guess I have to break it down since my bike was long paid for, before the Motor Trike Kit. I usually just tell them the the kit cost and they can add the bike to it ~ whatever they ride.

"More than we could afford..just ask my wife!" And point to Wifey.
You dont stop riding because you're getting old. You get old cause you stopped riding
I just tell them the first price the dealer quoted to us. That's enough shock for most. John would tell them what we finally paid for it after trading in the two Harleys, and after our after-market accessories and chroming EVERYTHING, but it's kinda fun to see the shock on their faces at my first response - it's not Let's Make a Deal!
We tell them....love it :-)

I usually get asked what does this run you. I tell em what I paid without the extras. Their reply is usually I thought they were over 45K dressed out like this. Then I smile and tell em how I love it.
I usually say, Don't know, never seen one like it for sale. Followed with a brief explanation of the countless hours fabricating it piece by piece.
We tell them the truth. My husband traded his 1997 4 x 4 Ford extended 3 door pickup for it. It was an anniversary present for me (our first). I think he got an AWESOME trade. I liked the truck but I LOVE the Trike!!! <img src="images/smilies/grin.gif" border="0" alt="" title="big grin" class="inlineimg" /> PS: he also got a GREAT deal on the truck originally!!! He is great at what he does.

I tell them that I am not sure of the total but I still have 119 more payments before its paid for.
I honestly tell them they can afford one like mine. While they have been told how expensive trikes are, they like the idea of the Voyager after I tell them about it.
It's like this; used Voyager $1500.00, used Goldwing $6100.00 and then end results is something that allows you to keep riding 'priceless'. Then I give them a business card.
