I'm AMAZED !

Well, Diane is out of town, so I decided to go for a ride this afternoon to the local Sonic Drive-In. I was sitting at one of the outdoor tables, eating my chili-dog, when I saw a frail little old black lady get out of one of the cars and walk to the building. I assumed she was looking for the rest-room or something. She started back to the car where there were two "younger" ladies (the lady walking was about 85 I'd say), she seemed confused and couldn't find her car. I was about to tell her which one was hers, when she tripped and fell between two of the cars. I jumped up and ran (yes Nana, RAN) over to help her. I checked her over and she asked me to help her up.

Another lady had gotten out of her car and come to help also. We helped the lady up and I walked her to her car where her "friends" were still sitting there watching. NOBODY else did a thing!

One of the car-hop girls finally came out to ask if she was going to sue...

This frail elderly little lady kept saying "God Bless you" and "The Lord sent you to help me"...

I'm stunned, shocked, dissapointed...I live in a small country town and I was really p*****-off at these people.

I'm sorry friends, I had to get this off my chest...

Jim, that is a heartbreaking story! It makes me furious just to read it! How can they not value her at all? Even her "friends" just sat in the car and watched???? Unbelievable!

I want you handy if/when I fall down!!!!

That is just incredible. I once fell in a local grocery store and I almost couldn't get up for all the people trying to help me. I was just a young whippersnapper of about 40 then--wonder if that made any difference?

Regardless, all people have value (well, except maybe my no-load eldest sister-in-law ), and to hear a story like yours, TrikerJim, just makes the blood boil. You have to wonder how all those other people were raised that they could see such a thing happening and not even respond. Sad.

Jim, knowing the type of person U are I would expect no less from you.... It is ashame our world has come to this... However there is still good people out there like U.....

If any of you get a chance read the Tracy Thurman story. that happened a few blocks from my house. 20 people stood and watched a man brutally beat and stab his wife in his back yard. Why people do the things they do.
