Lights???

Back BCL (Before Crimson Lace) when I was deciding on what Trike Kit I wanted, what extras I was going to include, one of the things I knew I wanted was a "Rake" on the front end. One of things I did not count on when we installed the 5.5 degree rake was where my headlights hit the pavement. I was taught to drive by a Daddy who thought you should drive with your eyes to the fartherest distance that you could... well with the rake installed and my lights raised as high as I can get them, both by adjusting the control on the 1800's dashboard as well as the plastic screws underneath the front end, I am able to see about 15 feet out in front of me at night. Just ain't what I want. Anybody have any ideas?

Hummmmm, I have a 1800 with a 5.5 rake but I have never rode it at night. Only had it about 2 months. I'm anxious to find out what the cure is for that and also to see if mine is the same.

Now that is an interesting question. When we had the 1500 raked it came back with the same stance as when we dropped it off. Lights hit down the road like nothing had been changed. I did notice that the fork legs were extended so the front wouldn't tilt lower. I thought extendedn legs or fork leg extenders came with most all rake kits.

As far as the question from Goldwingtrike about lighting up the road - auxillary driving lights range from pretty cheap up the whatever you want to spend. A set of HID lights would light up the night pretty well.

My trike is raked 4.5 degrees and the headlights light the road well....no change in the rider's ability to see down the road.

I onlty raked mine 4.5 and I can't tell any difference.
