Another Central TX Triker

Actually, I just became a trike rider TODAY! Yaay! Hubby and I just finished turning my '99 FXSTS into a trike. Don't worry Springer fans, it's not a permanent kit, can always return to original <img src="images/smilies/wink.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Wink" class="inlineimg" /> Anyway, I stumbled across this site and figured I'd check it out. Welcome to the forum, Blondie Gal and I are also from Central Texas, in fact 5 miles from the main gate at Ft Hood. As for the Maggie Valley trip, thank you for the invite, but we won't be able to make it. Between Hubby being active duty Army, going on "vacation" again overseas soon and us having two sons (13 and 5) we don't get many long trips on our bikes (now bike and trike <img src="images/smilies/wink.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Wink" class="inlineimg" /> ). Five more years till retirement from the Army, so hopefully we'll get to start having some longer trips than just around here! For now all we can do is start planning for future trips and catch a ride around here when we can. <img src="images/smilies/grin.gif" border="0" alt="" title="big grin" class="inlineimg" /></span></font>

We wanted to do that this year, but hubby's shoulder precluded our trikin' for a while. Fortunately, he's better, so we'll be in Maggie Valley again for our third TrikeTalk Rally!

Last year, we held a meet & greet at Strokers Dallas (Rick Fairless was a champ and took us thru the entire operation) in May, and held an Honor Ride in November from Houston to Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio. Sorry you missed them!!

We are in the early stages of planning a fall event - - do you have any 'autumn' suggestions that our members would enjoy??

Me too. I'm looking forward to riding East Texas when the colors change. May have to be a one day trip because they might not last long. LOL Not really. I am looking forward to that. Another thing that you might consider is the Texas Renaissance Festival in Plantersville. Not so much scenery but fun. It runs 8 weekends beginning Oct 6. Maybe an honor ride to Houston VA hospital. Whatever you decide I'm going to try to make it.

I'm game,too. Our kids live in Cedar Park so that would be another good excuse to ride the TX Hill Country.
