Need some input. Modified my three rail motorcycle trailer and loaded the Trike on it for the first time. Now that it's a Trike there is a lot more weight at the rear of the trailer. Question, how much tongue weight should I have. I put some sand bags up front and figure I have about 30 lbs of tongue weight right now. Any input??? Maggi Valley, here we come!

I believe the correct ratio is %10 of the trailor and and weight of what you are hauling is the tongue weight..

Can you back it on the trailer?

No, I can't back it on the Trailer. As it is the 2 outward tracks of the trailer were modified for rear wheels of the Trike to fit. I was on the internet this morning and that information said 10-15% of the total weight of the trailer and Trike. So I'm thinking the trailer @ 700 lbs and the Trike @ ~1100 for a total of 1800 lbs. by 11% says of my weights are correct about 200 lbs?

Correct this weight will help stop sway, you also want to be level or 1" tongue low will all the weight on board and hooked up.

Well I think I'm set. After installing several concrete bags on the front of the trailer, my tongue weight is 236.8. I believe total is 1800, I went 2 inches lower with the receiver (still a little high) and before hooking up the trailer to the Truck it's at about 15 inches so I'm guessing the truck will squish down a little and things will be great???
