Default New way to fight the heat?

Came across this in a magizine. From JIMS,jimsusa.com --

    THE JIMS FORCEFLOW
    CYLINDER HEAD COOLER
This smooth streamline design will keep your Twin Cam®
running cooler on those hot July summer days in stop and
go traffic. JIMS® R & D department has come up with a serious
way to drop your head temperatures by as much as
100 degrees. Although this mounts in the horn area JIMS®
has designed a horn relocater hidden inside the fan housing.
The fan can be installed to be turned on and off man
ually or it can be regulated by a thermostat controlled
sensor that monitors head temperature and activates the
fan when engine temperature rises. This kit is highly recommended
for performance motors to help extend engine
life. Complete kit includes high powered fan, housing,
horn, hardware and all wiring, along with detailed instructions.
Use on 99-Present Twin Cam Touring Models
& other models with some fabrication.
(Kit installs from horn location and is supported by center case bolt location.)
No. 5400 - Polished Cylinder Head Fan kit.
No. 5401 - Black Cylinder Head Fan kit.
No. 5402 - Silver Cylinder Head Fan kit

Do you loose your Horn when this is mounted, and do you wire it directly to the battery, the Fan that is?

Have not gotten mine yet so I do not know how it is wired but you do keep horn as is.
It will be a month or so before I can speak to how it works.
I read about it here: Built the best engine cooling system...again - Harley Davidson Forums

They have a detailed drawing of a patented HD water cooled heads with fans and radiators mounted in the lower fairings, should be in near future on 110 SE or Ultra Clasics, Hopefully Tri,s. THUNDER PRESS.

Tom, this has been leaked, advertised and discussed for about the last four years in a number of mags and on the internet. When and if they do release it I would hope they would put it in the Tri-Glide.

I was on a discussion panel on this about 9 or 10 years ago. Harley was looking for input on water cooling the dressers. Half the old timers(fanatics) said they would give up biking if that ever happened. I had to laugh and shake my head when I heard such nonsense. I'd never give up riding - on purpose. I'm sure it's going to happen, just not sure when.

Just hope it back fits to older models. Kit with new heads and all necessary parts, maybe.

The patent pending JIMS ForceFlow literally forces the heat away from your engine by pushing high velocity air through the cylinder fin pack in a wide flow pattern, directed at the head gasket surface. Powered by a cooling fan that was designed to cool brakes in NASCAR, the JIMS ForceFlow can lower head temperatures up to 100 degrees! The ForceFlow can either be activated by a thermostat (included), or wired for a manual on/off switch.

This unique design also relocates the horn inside the ForceFlow’s streamlined housing, and gives the horn mount or “left side” of the bike a much needed new look. The ForceFlow comes with all necessary hardware and wiring, and is available in Black or Silver for $420.00 MSRP, or Polished for $450.00 MSRP. For more information look us up at JIMS.....Performance Parts for Harley-Davidson Motorcycles, connect with us on Facebook or call 805-482-6913.
