Just installed the highway pegs on an "08 goldwing 1800 and notice there is an excesive amount of heat on the left side compared to the right. Is this normal? Anybody else experiencing this? Thanks in advance!

I'm like an old race horse..... I can still run the race -- Just ache more at the finish line and need more rest between outings.
I have an '08 GW trike since it was new and never noticed this heat problem. Good luck...

You do have the foot warmer vents closed, don't you?
Road Rider - do they call you Mr. Obvious?!! Yes the vents are closed. The heat seams to be coming from the valve cover area although I can't be certain.
Are both fans Working? All vents open, I never close any , check make sure enought water . What does the temp guage read?
I too have noticed the heat when my feet are up on the highway pegs.
I wear motorcycle boots avoid the burning sensation.

John, why would you ride with vents open, blowing heat on yourself when the temps are in the 90's? Is there a reason I'm not seeing? Everything is checking out ok and by reading some of the reply's I'm thinking it's the nature of the beast that I'm riding. (And I don't mean my wife!!!!!!)
I to have noticed heat when I have feet on the hiway pegs, installed trike wings and this helped. I to wear boots to help keep the heat away from my ankle. The heat I fell is equal on both sides. Ride Safe and Often.

My bike will over heat in temp above 90 in slow moving trafic with the heat vent closed. Opening the vent lets more air out. Under 90 or moving above 30 MPH I close them.
here in KY we have had a couple of weeks of temps over 100. I had the misfortune to ride a couple of those days and kept a weather eye on the temp gauge. My 2006 GL1800 temp needle never even twitched after rising to its normal point on the gauge. But I do feel more ankle heat on the left side than on the right and simply accept it to be business as usual.
