Oil level

Tony, my 2007 203 police motor reads about 1/4 of an inch higher on the stick as a trike then on the jiffy stand. I made note of this while I was building it and made marking's on my dip stick. I would not see any reason that this adjustment would not be close for most touring HD's Ted

HD Touring Model dipsticks are double-sided. One side for 'jiffy stand' use, and the other for sidecar (trike) use. The sidecar side of the dipstick has two diamond shaped markings, the lower one being the ADD QT mark, and the upper diamond, the FULL (hot) mark. They have been this way for years, as HD has, and still does, manufacture it's own sidecars.

Mike & I checked ours...no diamonds. Mine is a Fat Boy (not a touring model, so maybe that is why), but Mike has an '07 Street Glide. His dip stick only has markings on one side that just say add and full. Wonder if they have stopped marking them on both sides.

You Harley Guys/Gals are leaving yourself wide open on the Oil checking thing from Us Goldwingers .. Surprised no one has chimed in. I won't cuz I'm not that kind a guy

Hi guys, Like I stated before. I read my oil level before my install on the dip stick on the jiffy stand. I have a 2007 police 103 motor. I made sure that it was right on the full mark. After my build I read the level and made a mark on the other side of the stick for the full mark as a trike. I then measured down the same distance on the stick as is indicated on the factory marked side for the add a quart mark. As ultraboy stated I also have seen some sticks with the marks on both sides, but the stick in this bike was only marked on one side. The difference in the full level was approx. a quarter inch maybe a little less. Ted

</div>Strange....I have a 07 Ultra and it has the diamonds on the sidecar side of the dip stick. The 2007 touring models owners manual shows this on page 144, figure 46. Mike's, 07 Street Glide (touring model) should have the same dip stick and have the same owner's manual.

Boy, this one got out of hand... Nana, you won't find it on Softails, Dyna's or sporties. Also, I thought Mikes FLHX was an 06, and, for some strange, unknown reason, the MoCo stopped the dual marking for a year or two.
Anyway, just to add more fun to the game, here's the Tri-Glide dipstick. Note that you have both options, LOL.
