I wave and smile at anyone on any make of bike or trike! I find most people do that these days. Everyone I know also rides happily with people on any brand of motorcycle. They are all just enjoying friendship with those of similar interests!

Put a couple tankfuls of gas through the trike today, ended up in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Waved on the way there, waved on the way back, no waving in town. Eureka Springs is a motorcycle friendly town, and there are usually hundreds of bikes in town each day on a normal weekend. Too many to wave at, and would be too distracting and unsafe to try. Also, Eureka is in the Ozark Mountains, and it is hilly. When someone says they are going up or down the street, they really do mean up or down the street. It's just too dangerous to let go of the bars. On top of that, there was a rally called Thunder In The Mountains this weekend, so instead of hundreds of bikes in the area, the numbers were supposed to be in the thousands. Too many even to wave at just the trikes in town.

I wave at everyone even scooters. But at rallys I only wave when the traffic is thinner for safety reasons. Ted

If it's a trike, I wave even if I'm in the four-wheeler. Occasionally a motorcyclist will wave first and I always wave back.
Somehow I'm never quite like part of the motorcycle crowd when I'm on the trike, but I'll try initiating waves with the motorcyclists today and see what happens.

Always - bike, trike, or scooter - as long as it's safe. When it isn't safe to remove my hand, I generally make sure to at least nod to them (almost always smiling, but hard to see that when I wear the FF ).

I do pretty much the same as Spiritdream--wave when it's safe to take a hand off the bar, and when it's not safe to do that, I smile and nod. I think people get the point.
The ones I notice NOT waving around here are the riders of sport bikes. Some of them wave, but many of them do not. I don't know any of them, so I'm not sure whether they are not interested or they just don't know. Also, might it be that it's even less safe to let go of the bars in that forward-lean position? I just don't know. In any case, I wave at them.
I even wave at cyclists, if they're looking up and not just hammering along with their nose on the handlebars.

:2cents:I'm an equal opertunity waver...any two or three wheeled ride gets a wave and a nod. Most don't quite now how to respond to to this strange ride with a steering wheel.
Big Dog, When I finally see my first Stallion on the road, I'll be so excited the driver will have no doubt I'm waving . As rare as you guys are still, I have a feeling that Mattel and Bella will be my first one outside of the Daytona showroom, when I meet with them in about a month. I can't wait!

I had to edit my original post because it said "I never like the motorcycle crowd" instead of "I'm never quite like one of the motorcycle crowd." I wasn't paying attention or something when I wrote that this morning.
In any case, I tried waving at about 25 motorcyclists and got one response. I remember that, as a motorcyclist, I used to get responses all the time, so I assume that they're either wondering what the heck it is that I'm driving or they don't think I'm waving at them.
Yes we wave...Doesn't matter what bike. If I cannot wave then I give a nod of the head. In Europe some of the bikes when they pass you stick out their leg to say hello.
Not a bike/trike thing but mostly all 4/2 Smart drivers wave and flash lights at each other when passing
The answer is yes, I wave, and have told my wife to wave - since she's on a Trike, I guess she gives them the fancy "Princess" Wave, but I can't see her...
I just like the fact that all motorcyclists have this common bond in riding. It's like gang-sign, only better! What's up my peeps..How you doin'?
Why not wave - the only thing they can do is not wave back....well, they could do other things, but then you have to pull a powerslide on the Trike to track them down :machinegun: Just kidding

I wave. I find I forget NOT to wave when I'm in a car!
I don't sweat people NOT returning the wave - my choice and theirs.

I do notice there are like 4 waves
The tough Harley Wave ( 1 finger pointing at the ground)
The Honda Wave ( arm out stretched Hand Flat forward)
The New rider Wave ( raises had about 2" off the grip )
The BMW ( when they wave "RARE happening" ) open hand up like Hi
Have not met a Stallion yet so don't know how they wave.
All other makes do there own thing. Variations or copies of the above.
Yep, I wave.
I wave at bikers, trikers, trees, bushes, clouds, sunshine, little old ladies out sitting on their porch on a cool day and the kid cutting grass before his Dad shuts down his allowance. I wave at dogs running out to catch my leg, the fresh roadkill that gets a special goodbye wave warning other bikers behind me. I wave at the kids in the car or school bus in front of me at the stop light and the old biker in his pick up truck straining his neck to check out this weird looking black thing making a lot of noise. I wave at cops, deputies and the military transports. Heck, I'm so wave happy I'll be waving if I wreck and then wave for a cab to take me home.
Yep, I wave and you'd be surprised who waves back (and those who don't).
Like reksul, I wave at any and all, all the time.
