Champion IRS clicking noise

I have a 2006 GL1800 with a Champion IRS kit installed. When ever I hit a bump, there is a clicking, clunking noise coming from under the rear left side. The tires were wearing on the inside because of the bad negative camber. Champion sent us a replacement kit including the upper control arms to correct the negative camber problem. My installer did the work the other day. I mentioned the clicking noise and he said he figured it might be the stabilizer bushings. He lubricated the ball joints on the stabilizer bar and said the noise was gone. After driving 200 miles today, the noise is still there, maybe worse. He said he was going to contact Champion to find out if there is a problem with the stabilizer bushings. Has anyone else had problems with this clicking, clunking sound on rough roads?<br />
I am quite happy with the IRS negative camber kit.

The tires are finally touching the road more evenly, rather just on the inside of the tire.<br />

You could contact Champion directly and talk to Joseph Smith, or one of the other big guns. You will probably get a respone tomorrow from him, he is a member and watches this board. I to will be watching this and have the same problem. I have had mine apart three times trying to trace this down and have not come up with an answer yet. at times I think it is coming from the shock spings moving on there base, at other times from the splines on the hubs or the cv joints. so far there seem to be no problem in the way it rides. but I would have a hard time recomending this to any of my customers with out an answer. I hope Joe will respond and have some answers for us.

I have heard that Your Torsion bar get's hot and that the bushing swell and stick to the torsion bar that might be out of round. You might need to take if off and send it back to Champion for a rebuild. If I were you I would take it to my nearest Champion dealer and let them handle it. <img src="images/smilies/thumbup.gif" border="0" alt="" title="" class="inlineimg" /><br />

I am sure that if it is under warranty champion would send a call tag and have it back to you with in a 8 days or so. Depending on where I lived I might wait till the off season to do it as it's not causing any damage it's just a little annoying with the noise.

Just to let everyone know that has concerns for this problem. I was in touch with Joseph Smith from Champion. He told me to send the anti-roll bar back to the factory for rebuild. From the time I sent the part to Champion and when I got it back and re-installed, it took about 2 weeks. Great news, no more clicking or clunking. It rides a lot better and I'm sure glad the noise is gone. Champion covered it all under warranty. Thanks Champion.

Does the Champion kit not come with a negative camber kit? Is this something you have to order after the installation, or was there one included, but was bad.

Hi Big Blue<br />
The kit that Champion installed on my bike had way to much camber on it. The wheels leaned in at least 3/4 of an inch at the top. The tires were wearing on the inside 2 inches and were cupping badly. The rest of the tire showed no sign of wear. With the new knuckle installed, the tire face is now flat on the pavement and should wear more evenly. I'm not sure if there is any camber with this new design, but it isn't noticable.
