GL1800 Lehman Trike : Does drive connect to one wheel or both ?

Sept 20,2012

Someone asked me today if my 2005 GL1800 Lehman Monarch II Trike,:GL1800: whether or not one wheel or both are connected to the drive shaft ?

Both wheels are driven from the driveshaft through a differential. Just like a car. I am not positive but do believe they do not use posi traction or locking differentials on any trikes. Hope this helps.

The Lehman Trikes all have open differentials, just like a passenger car. The drive shaft turns and the differential gear set makes the rear axles turn. They do not have a live axle, posi-traction or limited slip. This allows differing wheel speeds in turns.
