Here is the Question, is there a way to slide the upper trunk futher back on a GL1500 Roadsmith, I would like to expand the front to back width of the rear seat. Experts please help a Dad of a growing 12 year old.

Our trunk on our '97 1500 has been moved back 2" for more room for the wife.Requires 2 brackets fabricated out of 1/4 steel plate and drilled for mounting holes.
I moved ours back 3 or 4 years ago and have the instrictions somewhere.Will look and post if I can find them.
Also if you have access to the GWRRA board,you can do a search for 1500 trunk re-location for the instructions.That's where I got them.About a 2 hour job,making brackets and installation.

Thanks CSCSONNY this is what i was looking for. in reading it the only part I am unsure of is the trunk latch, it looks like i would have to get a longer cable for the lower trunk.
I guess if I tear it apart i can figure from there.

I have done 3 of these on 1500's and a longer cable is not needed.
