It IS going to make a nice trike and will be a quite viable and marketable unit overall. A "Cousin", so to speak, to the GL. Not a true Sibling. The F6 will appeal to a new Owner/Rider demographic much more so than those already in the GL fold. This is Honda's intention and aim with this machine evidenced by its assigned nomenclature. Not a GL,,, An F6. Even more of a market-share grab offering than the variations of the HD FLH platforms.
We shall see but my money is on the bet that they have a winner here and will be effective in bringing more prospective Owners to the Honda family that beforehand were not even giving it a serious second thought. One must put themselves on the table before they can enter the final hands. This is an Ante that will give them greater opportunities to be in more All-In moments of which they were previously not even invited to.
Just a cheaped out Goldwing... no trunk, shaved fairing and crappy seats. No thanks. Still waiting for the re-emergence of the "Valkyrie"... they're not there yet, keep working Honda.
How does the new F6B differ from the Valk? Looks to me like Honda finally recognized their mistake in retiring the Valk and came out with v2.0.
Now if only they'd release v2.0 of the VTX1800...
This new F6 clearly has nothing to do with the great Valkyrie. Here's a couple of photos of my old trike. Wish I still had her. She would've made a great stable mate to the Wing.
Old School - New School.... GL1500 - GL1800..... Valk - F6B....
What it comes down to is personal preference. Mine leans toward the "New School" side. Nothing wrong with the older stuff but I like the cleaner meaner lines and state of the art machine... JMHO :Trike1: :Trike1:
