Thinking of installing cooling fan on my trike along with Jagg fan assisted oil cooler. Any input on which is better Lenale or FCS?

I have a Lenale and It works good for me. I can defently tell a difference when I turn it on when Idling on a hot summer day. I installed a oil temp gauge in place of the useless air temp gauge and can watch the oil temp either drop or quit climbing. It looks good also.

I've always thought about getting the Harley fan, but a Harley mechanic once told me the fan blows hot engine air on your right leg. So I never bought one - who wants MORE heat on their leg?
I see many people on here that like their H-D or Lenale fans. So I'll ask you guys = "How do you put up with more hot air being blown on your right leg"??? I don't think I could tolerate that.
I just recently saw the FCS set up. They look nice. I never knew there were air passages behind the spark plugs. Where do those air passages exit? Anywhere near your legs?
The setup I have now works very well and the heat is almost non existant.
Lenale fan tied to my acc switch. Had it on my ultra and took it off and installed on the Tri Glide when I traded. Works great going on two years now. I like the looks better than the one from Wards Parts Works.
Gary, my leg is pretty much in front of the air cleaner. I'm guessing the warm air that moves from the FCS through the spark plug passage goes under my leg for the rear cylinder and in front of my leg for the front cylinder.
Isn't it true that most of the heat folks feel on their right leg is from the exhaust? At least that's how I understand it from reading Wizard's A+B=C Heat thread. My exhaust heat is mitigated by tuning with TTS Mastertune and running a wrapped & coated FM headpipe. I specifically bought and use the FCS because it fights engine heat at the source. I ride year round and see triple digits up to 6 months. Because the cylinder head temps are now under control, I can still run more efficient spark timing while running a leaner closed-loop tune. The heat I feel on my right leg isn't any worse than before I installed the FCS. It sounds like you have your heat problem solved to your satisfaction and don't have a dog in the fight. That's a good thing.
TheBobs. I was talking about the H-D or Lenale fans blowing hot air onto my right leg, not the FCS which looks like a better solution as you mentioned.
My right leg is exactly in the center of the cylinders/air cleaner. Not only would the hot air blow on my leg, but it would be sucked into the engine through the air cleaner-not a good idea. Cold air is better for an engine.
Yes, heat from the engine combined with the rear exhaust pipe heat is what makes it uncomfortable, that's why some riders go with true dual exhausts.
I do have a tuner on my TG along with better flowing mufflers and A/C and a couple other things.
Yes, I am comfortable with my setup, but it could always use a little bit more cooling.
I was even tinkering with the idea that you mentioned about wrapping the pipes. I am just concerned about the looks of the wrap. Did you put any chrome heat shields over your wrap???
That's the reason why I never put the Lanale or the HD fan on. Learned the same exact lesson when running 11.5:1 comp on a 4-bbl Ford 351C. Intentionally blowing warm/hot air directly into the air cleaner isn't helpful.
As for wrapping, you can wrap the head pipe and install the stock heat shields right over the top of the wrap, no sweat. Wrap is advertised to reduce about 30% of the exhaust heat. Works way more efficient than running rich and wasting gas.
I run the HD parade fan and the Ultracool oil cooler with two fans. Don't notice any heat on my right leg.
Blowing heat in the air cleaner??? Even if you don't have a fan, if you have wind blowing from left to right going down the road, that hot air is still going into the air cleaner!
I just received the FCS system that I ordered from Wards and I couldn't be happier with the looks & workmanship. It also fits with my mini-beast horns, that is the 3rd reason I went with the FCS. The first was all the reviews I read along with the testing Wards did and the 2nd reason was the looks. I think the FCS looks like it belongs on the engine, like it could have been OEM. The other pluses are it is built in the USA by a member of our Military.
Like they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I personaly don't like the looks of two round circles covering my engine, but thats just me. And by the way, the lenale fans are made by Disabled Vets.
The cooling fans are used when you are hung in traffic or stopped at a stop light. The fact that you are blowing hot air toward the air cleaner is a problem is ridiculous, I'm trying to cool the motor at or close to idle speed!
