    Default Kuryakyn Risers

I'm sitting back in my seat at almost arm’s length, and plan on trying to sit back and higher even further (by changing to a Hartco seat), to try to open up leg angle, because of a very bad knee.

Right now my arms are almost straight, so on turns to get the "push arm" perfectly straight, I have to lean forward. I'm thinking about putting on Kurakyn risers, and get the handlebars up and back a little.

Do you personally have them? Did it help your posture on the trike?

    Would appreciate your comments.

I have them on my trike and they did relax my arm stance a bit. Now, when traveling straight, my elbows are slightly bent (which is quite relaxing) and when I do have to make a 'locked turn', I only have to lean forward slightly. I feel they're definitely worth it.

I used the MBC wide risers. You have a little more bend in the elbows.

I just installed the Kuryakyn Risers on mine and I say they make a lot of relief.

I put a set on two years ago and will 2nd what Rich said. Well worth the bucks and install was no problem. I also installed a Hartco seat at the same time. A good seat and the seat heat will scortch your buns on high.

I have the Kury risers as well. They made a world of difference! I can now use my Kury backrest! No more reaching for me! Go for it!

I looked at other brands of risers, and choose the Kury's because they had the most positions in which to install them. May be a bit more expensive than some, but the adjustability made them worth every penny.

I'm doing Kury risers on my RS conversion, probably they were the most recommended. My installer said most of his conversions were with Kury.

I have them .. You will be glad you got them with your install. Also, when
you are looking at seats, try the Ultimate Seat .. It is absolutely awesome.
They have a dealership at Destinations in Ormand Beach complex .. Round the
corner from JP Cycles. So far my longest ride on the Ultimate Seat without
stopping for a break is 155 miles ... Everyone who I have let drive my RS,
    loves the seat ...

I agree with MarciaG. I had them installed when I had my bike converted and can tell a real difference in my neck and shoulder. You won't go wrong. It's is always nice to be "close to your work".

Good to know I'm making some reasonable decisions on my RS trike install.

    Hi,

I'm new to the Forum, and new to the world of trikes as well. I own a 2003 VTX1800R which will become a Roadsmith conversion very shortly. I've chosen Trike Talk supporter UNB Customs as my installer; and they should start work on it in another few weeks.

I believe that UNB Customs is the only Roadsmith dealer that offers an electric reverse for the VTX, and I really look forward to that addition. At 72 years young, I don't even want to think about how Fred Flintstone would handle a 1000 lb trike.

I've been studying everything I can find here on the forum, to get a feeling for what I'll need to make my trike experience more rewarding. I've ordered a rake kit from Zook, and I hope I get it in time to have it installed when the trike is put together. I've been reading a lot about risers also.

I know nothing about risers. Are there any measurements or tricks that might help one so devoid of knowledge? Is this something that the installer could help me with? Not having been on a motorcycle for a number of years now, I would hazard to say that there are a good many things that I have not yet thought of--but I think I've come to the right place.

I hope I don't become too much of a a pain in the neck; but, just in case, I thank you for any help you can give me.

Carpened, the Kury risers will help your reach and position in the seat, probably more so if you're under 6' tall. I have been blessed with a short round structure and my arm reach was causing pain in my shoulders and neck area. That all disappeared after I installed the risers in the farthest up and back position. I have seen some of the taller riders praise them for moving them forward, which allowed them to stretch out some more. For the money, they are a worthwhile addition. IMHO

Good info right there kwputt. I'm doing Kury, not a tall guy by any stretch, so I'll be doing the up and back max.

Default Kuryakyn Risers - Now In

Had the Kurys put on Sat. - have since driven about 400 miles - what a difference. Much more comfortable. I maxed them out - all the way in, all the way back and up as far as they will go.

Handle bars hit front cowling on a lock-to-lock turn, but this is only when parking or locking the trike. You would never do this when driving at any speed more than 1 mph. Tech put some washers under instruments and GPS to raise up a little, but they still hit, but really not a big deal.

I really like mine....no more reaching "ever-so-slightly" down to the Bars....Nice Level Push-Pull.....(IMO) They work better for Trike use than 2-wheeler use..... pepper
