    Default Stator Plug Leak

    Anyone else have there stator plug leaking oil from the engine case plug?

    I have never had one ever leak that bad as I do now. The bottom of the bike/engine is coated with oil.

    I've never had a stator leak leak on any of our bikes...I wonder...is the clip that holds the stator plug loose?

    Mine ( 10 Tri-Glide) was leaking real bad, covered under extended warrenty.

    Dont think the newer bikes ahve the clips anymore.

    Yep got a 2010 triglide too..Leaking pretty good..Going to have to repair it myself.

    Add that to my winter project list..

    Just had mine replaced. Was leaking pretty bad. 2011 with 31,000 miles.

    Let be stupid, please. What and where is the stator plug? Do you mean the primary cover? I have a 2011 Triglide. I have had the oil cooler manifold block leak (new gasket 3 times), Engine oil pan (all bolts finger tight), Transmission bottom cover (all bolts finger tight) re-tightened all bolts with loctite by dealer. With all the leaks I have had I am surprised I have not had a stator plug leak. The bottom of the trike will never rust
    Rear lift kit, and tour pak relocation, Road Zepplin Air seat, Chrome front forks, SE 120 ST engine, Headers by V&H, Stock mufflers, SE 259E cams, TTS tuner and SE Air Cleaner, 58 mm Throttle Body, Tank lift, Wind Deflectors, DIY Crankcase Breather, Floorboard Ext.

    There are no Stupid questions here..

    Its On the left side of the bike in front of the primary inner cover its a plug /wires that goes thru the engine from your stator to your regulator..

    Your list of leaks are starting to look like mine.

    Had the tranny side plate ,oil pan bolts loose, now the stator plug

    Is it the stator plug that is going bad or is there pressure building up in the primary causing the leaks?? mine only has like 7600 miles on a 2010

    I have not had the pleasure yet of removing the stator plug from the engine but my question would be Does it have O rings or is it a once piece seal and fit design as in previous years??

    My parts manuals shows just the stator and cable no O Rings...

    Had a stator plug leaking on my 99 RK trike. took the stator loose, cleaned good with alchol and RV the grommet the wires run through from the inside,no leak.

    The one on the 2010 Triglide I used to own was starting to weep from the stator plug, sad part is there is very little you can do to stop it short of replacing the stator or maybe silicon sealing it up which may work for awhile.

    yea on the 2010 its last letter was a (B) so there been a few updates since mine and from what I found out they did a update on the 2011 models.

    if you want to get the newest version stator they are backlogged until feb 2011 ..geez

    I am still blown away by how much oil is coming out of that plug..That should never happen..

    On mine [2011] there are no O rings. The wire, plug and stator are 1 piece from factory. Entire assembly has to be replaced.
