    I have a 2012 TG with 2700miles on it (new to me). Leaking oil out of the Stator Plug. Tech said it was because it was overfilled (FWIW previous owner used Syn3). It is covered under warranty, however, I have been waiting for a month for the replacement part. Glad this didn't happen in June!!!!

    If it was overfilled I would check to make sure you are not loosing engine oil too..The reason why is the seal from the engine could be blowing oil into the primary or from the trans..then again somebody may have overfilled but it still should have not leaked..They have problems with the stator plugs leaking..The replacement part is not due until Feb 2 per all dealers that I have checked with..the newer revised stator has a "D" at the end of the part number now..

    The stator isn't a dry area to begin with, it sees plenty of oil. If someone did overfill they would have had clutch problems right off the bat.

    Thank you for the advice and update on the part availability. I took the bike in to have it gone through after i purchased it late this fall. As luck would have it, it just started leaking before it went in. The mechanic didn't seem concerned. He is an old timer and seems to know his stuff. He has been through it and nothing else turned up. The previous owner's son did the oil/fluid changes and switched everything to syn3 (I am switching to RedLine in primary and tranny; ams oil in the motor.) I am inclined to agree with the mechanic's observation that it was just overfilled. I did call the original dealer and they said it had been in for a clutch adjustment at 1000 miles; the oil was changed at 300 miles. So looks like your observations are consistent with the history. I will be looking forward to getting her back home soon! There is a big ugly empty spot in the garage and I have a lot of stuff to do!
    Will be visiting her this weekend.....Again! I'll run by your observations with the mechanic. THANKS MUCH!

    I thought I had a stator plug leak and it turned out to be the oil filter mount was loose. This after I tightened the oil pan bolts like nearly everyone else here has. The oil was oozing across the front of the case and over to the stator plug so I'd say check that too.

    My old shovel leaked, pulled apart cleaned with starting fluid made sure to get ALL the oil cleaned off silicone the **** out of it and put back in let cure overnite no more leak

    43k on my 2009 sending it in to get stator replaced ,extended warranty best thing I ever invested in. Hate the co -pay oh well better than doing myself.

    I had the oil filter leak after the first oil change. repaired it myself. Stator plug leak was next at 5 years on a 2011 machine.

    At 18000 miles I just got done replacing the compensator. Rattling like heck. I replaced it with the new modified Compensator with a glued in oiling ramp and the screaming eagle compensator was different from the old one.

    the Stator wire leak was addressed at the same time.I tried permeated ultra Black to stop the oil leak with bad results. It seems the were o-ring places on the stator wire grommet but no o-rings installed originally. I had a o-ring kit that seemed to have the right size then cleaned out the hole with brake cleaner and alcohol . Added the o-rings and liberally applied ultra black permeated to the grommet and re-installed. Dry as a bone now and the new compensator difference is really smoother. Better all the way around.

    Once I was cleaning and I “disturbed” that stator grommet just enough to make it start leaking. Aarrggh.

    No good way to fix it, other than take the primary apart and replace stator, grommet is part of it. I wasn’t about to simply try cleaning and reassembly.

    Bottom line, be careful around that grommet!
