excessive blow-by

I have a 2011 triglide,whats considered the norm on blow by? My filter is wet &oil is at the dripping stage anywhere between 350-1000 miles.I have a lil over 18000 miles on it.My original filter has been cleaned so often it's needing replaced.I've had 3 h-d's before this one & none of them was like this.Any ideas? thanks

right now the oil is warm & it's about a 1/4" above the add

yea remove about 1/2 quart and should be better..Check when cold..

Got tired of fighting the oil on the wifes pants and the constant cleaning of the bike and filter. Had the exhaust valves replaced according to the shop and also new rings, didn,t help. Finally drained oil out and added a pad in the air breather casing.
Seems to be helping. Still have a little blowby. Oh Yeah, tried three different breathers.

I use the fuel moto billet backing plate with some breather tubes from Vance & Hines VO2 A/C series. Hasn't leaked a single drop in 12,000 + miles; and, I don't use any oil between oil changes.

Same issue when I bought my '09.....do not fill to the top line when changing oil and be sure whomever is doing the oil change that they don't fill to the top line....what Trikemutha said, remove 1/2 quart.

As others have said, try running it a half qt low.

Just did what everyone has suggested.drained aprox.26oz. out.With the weather here i won't know for awhile,but hopefully that'll do it.thanks

Agreed! From my personal experience with my Evo motor, this should take care of your blow-by

I have done all the above and still have blow-by. Its so bad it's all over my seat and the side of the bike. Its at the dealer for the winter now and that was on the top of my list. Removing 1/2 a quart did not change the situation at all. Any other suggestions?

My 2008 Ultra was terrible. Before delivery I had the Stage II upgrade done at the dealer. It blew from day 1. It was so bad that it would form a puddle at the base of the cylinders. I ended up going with the Doherty Power Pacc and sent all the blow by to the ground. When I took the SE A/C off there was no evidence of blow by or oily soot on the front of the backing plate. The back side was covered. I was pretty much dissatisfied with the whole thing and never investigated further. But thinking back on it, I wonder if it could have been improperly sized O-rings, or the mating surfaces not being flat enough for the O-rings to properly seal. When you get the dealer's B/S answer that they all do that and you know they don't, makes you wonder if it is really a defect. You might want to try fatter O-rings.

The Doherty was an expensive way to go. The Fuel Moto worked great the way it was and was priced right; but, I didn't want to take any chances and went with the different breather hoses. Jamie guaranteed me that his billet A/C would not leak or my money back. If at some point I decide to vent to the atmosphere I can do it without much hassle.

If you don't feel comfortable addressing this yourself I would try and find an indy to help you. Sounds like your dealer can't help at this point.

When I was using the Syn3 in my '10 TG I would get blow-by in high temps even with it being a half qt low. I switched to Amsoil and with it running a half qt down it has solved my problem. Maybe you could try a different oil...

its hard to say but in most cases removing some of the oil helps..Could be several things
Have the Dealer check it out- may need to change out the unbrella valves on the top end??

I am quessing the air filter was cleaned out already too?

Is the oil coming out the carb intake or the breathers??

May help to narrow down the problem??
