Harleygirl, I'm in Glen Ellyn (down the street from you) and 9 of us did ride out to Starks Tavern like we do EVERY Jan. 1st. It is our (Wild Fire HOG) annual Freeze Your Ass Off (FYAO) ride that I started about 12 years ago. We also ride every Sunday for a BBB ride (Blue Balls Brunch) - weather permitting. Only stipulation is the roads have to be dry.....I don't want to be responsible for 2 wheelers going down. As for the salt, I spray down my bikes with S100 Corrosion Protectant and laugh at the salt. Then hose it all off in March and I'm good to go.
The only negitive is listening to all the others crying "I can't wait for summer so I can ride my bike".
I do have electrics. Matter of fact I just bought a whole new set.
If anyone is interested I have a great condition and great price for a jacket liner (48/36) and an adjustable controller(both Gerbings) for $ 150. ThumbUp
I'm not paying $32K+ to only ride for 7 months.
