Just returned from trip to Chicago and got Tow Pac installed on my 1500. Test ride was incredible and much to my surprise the bike with trike was very easy to steer for me. It was a hoot to ride and look forward to this new ride experience.

    Hi, Dan!

I have had a Tow-Pac Mini-trike, with the 8" wheels on my Honda Helix for the past 1-1/2 years and like the set-up just fine. I suggest you contact Jeremy in Tow-Pac's Engineering / Operations dept. (small company) at 815-937-1079 to find out just why riding the the Tow-Pac kits on gravel roads voids their waranty. I don't remember the why. I just have avoided the gravel, staying on the asphalt and have not had a speck of trouble living around Smallsville, MN. Diane, Customer Service 866-694-3500, might further be able to shed some light. Best to act as a new / potential customer, as I believe will help to get answers.

Thanks John, I'll give him a call. Fortunately all I have is about a 50 ft. patch of gravel and it's not deep/loose gravel and the rest of the road is dirt. But I will quiz him about the effects of riding off the asphalt with the Tow Pac.

Looking good Dan. Whose trike is that I see next to yours? Do you have a trike and your 95?

Hi Jack, that is Jerry Lee's wife's 95 Interstate with Lehman trike up in Downs, Illinois. I bought my Tow Pac from Jerry and that pic was taken in his shop where we installed the Tow Pac on my GW. She had been riding a 99 GW with the Tow Pac but didn't like the stiff steering so Jerry found her the Lehman trike with rake kit. She's much happier now with that and they're selling the 99 SE after removing the Tow Pac and selling to me.

Got in my first ride yesterday with the Tow Pac. Rode on highway at 75mph and in-town. Initial reaction is that it's easier to steer for me than expected. The steering is very responsive and does not under steer into curves. I bought the Tow Pac because of my poor road condition to my house that is unsafe to ride on with 2 wheels. After fighting it for many years and a few drops I decided to trike the Wing. Power sliding through the deep sand, where normally I have problems, was so easy and fun to ride through. The deep ruts, exposed tree roots in the road, loose sand and gravel had always played havoc for the Wing and now I can ride through in complete comfort and worry free. I found the in-town handling very easy and nimble. Noticed a little vibration at 35-45 moh as I'll check tire pressure and may play with the downforce adjustment on wheels. It is generally not as smooth as 2 wheels with more road vibration and bumps and pot holes felt more too. I hear the same thing from full trike conversions too as it's the trade off for stability.

i have the same tow pac 12" kit on my 06 Aero 750.. i love it , my last two trikes were full conversions and felt much stiffer when taking the curves, a lot of guys laugh at my training wheels but i enjoy the same ride that they do at a much lower cost. i'll take the tow pac anytime even over the Voyager, because it has a lower ground clearance..... Best of Riding to you.........

Thanks for your reply and happy to hear the positive feedback. How long have you had your Tow Pac and any issues with the bolts? I was wondering too how one changes tires on the Tow Pac? I was thinking, put bike on center stand and can probably lift the wheel up to remove. Interesting comment also that your previous full trike conversion had stiffer steering. I bought a Super Brace recently and will install soon. Do you have vibration around 40mph?

HEY DAN>>>>>East Texas is a BIG area, can ya narrow it down some? Where do ya'll live? You know I am in North
Houston. Also looking for a trailer that will fit my trike. The one we have, is not wide enough. So looking in my area for a little bit wider trailer and drive up gate, that raises up to lock trike in.

Are you referring to my Cargo box, with lighta and rack? If so, I just dont remember. It cost me $300 tho, the wrap-a-round for passenger back comes with it too. I had bought one that looked just like it for 4100, and it was a joke...it was SO small and cheap. so I sent it back, but I will look at my paperwork and let ya know. I had googled Yamaha Jumbo Cargo Box with Wrap-a-round and found a site I liked and just dont remember the name right off. thank you for the compliment on my Trike. I am really surprised at how many I have gotten since I added the box and saddlebags.

awesome looking! I like it! How was the ride? Did you have any problems with bolts on kit, or kit tire use? Give me any info that may help when I head out on a long run, that I may ned to know. Thanks!

No DanB i never have had any problems with any of the bolts breaking or loosening. the kit has been on the bike since shortly after New in 2006. Now to change the tire the easiest way is just remove the fender (easy job) . And No vibrations at any speed , i keep 50 psi in the tires and no problems. You will get some fender rattle on rough roads, Tow Pac recommends puting a piece of felt where the mounting bolts go , but i haven't. heres a pic of the back of mine , just don't look at the dirt.

Once the fender is pulled how do you jack up the wheel to remove or do you just lift it up? Also, do you put on center stand ( if you have one)? Your bike looks so cool.

CBLACK>>>>>>wow, thats great looking Tow Pac you got there! May I ask what you have where the fenders are bolted? is that a metal pad you have there? or something else? I like how it hides that area. great job!

DanB i just used a small floor jack under the torsion part of the axle and just lifted the one wheel off the ground.
LouLou2 that little cover is a piece of plastic that is hard and the exhaust doesn't melt it. i am not sure what its made of because the previous owner put it on, i like it because it covers a lot of ugly and when its cleaned with armour all it looks great.
