Hi Guys. I've been riding a 1995 honda 600vlx for the last 10 years, and last year decided to trike it. Being of 'pensionable' age, and not being renowned for my balancing skills, 3 wheels seems the way to go!
Used to be into street rodding 20 years ago and have produced a model T and Ford pop E93A supercharged V8 cars-handbuilt from the ground up!
This trike is tricky because its chain drive. I bought a part built cradle off eBay, which holds a Ford 7" diff and a IRS set up. To convert to shaft drive, I've used a yamaha xs1100 final drive unit, carrying a 13T sprocket. I got this idea from an american site (who saw it on a UK site!), so I hope it works. You can see progress pics in my 'Slack Alice' gallery. Incidently, 'Slack Alice' was the name of a 3.8 litre Jaguar powered competition altered that I used to drag race back in '75.
Most of the fabrication is complete and I'm preparing to paint-then assemble. Should be back on the road for spring-assuming the legal regulations on trike conversions can be successfully overcome!
Any advice and tips welcome! Dave Craig. Newcastle,UK.
