I have a 05 HD Ultra / 04 Lehman. I had it at the HD shop to have some things done and the guy ask if I wanted to have the brakes flushed. I said go ahead, they used Dot-4 as that is what the bike uses. I nor he thought about Lehman. In October the right side caliper started leaking and we were camping at Myrtle Beach so I got some Dot-4 and added a little (not a bad leak) would take care of it when I got home, (after knee replacement surgery). So then I look at the Lehman instruction manual and it says Dot-5!! Of course I have no way to know if that is what was in there or not. One question is since it was "flushed" should I be okay to go with Dot-4 or do you think the Dot-4 caused my current problem? If so what all will I need to change out? I sure hope my trike dealer has a kit to rebuild the calipers. They have the Lehman logo on them so I guess they are not from a car. I talked to the Lehman dealer last year about the brake pads with all the problems Harley is having and he said that the pads "never" ware out, at 32,000 they look like new and I use my rear brakes 95% of the time. Thanks in advance for any help or input.
