I have a 2009 GW that is currently being Triked with a 2013 CSC Cobra XL with a 6degree rake. I ordered my kit with the rear whells that match the front rim. The rear wheels are chromed and I am trying to find out how to get my front rim chromed to match the rear wheels. I have also read many threads in about the front stock tire wearing out quickly. My GW is brand new with 1000 miles on it and I was wanting to find out the best tire to get more milage then the 5,000 that most are getting. Any help would be greatfull.

I've been using the Michelon Pilot Activa for 7 years and have had an average life of 21-24,000 miles...I know of no better...We just installed number 5 at 95,000 miles..

Suggestion:
MPA reverse mounting with ceramic beads for balancing. Can't go wrong!
Compare prices from buying a chrome rim to having yours chromed. Also look into who is doing the chroming and how many years they will stand by their chroming process. Not all chroming is good!
Good luck!

I, too, have been looking into getting a chrome font wheel, but for a 1500. Thru this group and others, I have come up with two suppliers. The 1st one was particularly recommended. Be careful, they're spelled almost the same. I have exchanged emails with: mike@chromeplating.com (the 1st one) who seems very helpful...

This is not to say there's anything "wrong" with the 2nd supplier, just that the 1st one was enthusiastically recommended by someone on this forum. Check out these and others and take your best "guess".

Hope this is helpful.

Talked to two different dealers and neither are willing to put tire on in reverse direction. Stated it had something to do with legal issues, any ideas? Also what are the beads that you are refering to Rosy? Do the beads replace the weight on the rim, if so thats great as it would prevent any damaging to the chrome rim.
