6x9 flags and mounting

I've never run small flags on my trike, but since I belong to the PGR, I'd like to run these small flags for now until I graduate to the big flags.
I bought 2 "Add On" flag poles and brackets to mount 6"x 9" flags and a couple of flags. Hopefully someone can give a a hint or 2 as to how to keep these flags from sliding down or right on up and off. I have an idea or two, but am not sure it's the best way to go.
I would like to be able to interchange flags easily, when needed. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The flags themselves should fit tight on the pole. Also, your poles should have come with a rubber grommet. Use that below the flags and put enough pressure to hold them where you want them.

I never change mine out or take them off so mine are zip-tied to the poles.

I used two screw bolts thru the wooden post. Have been up to 70 mph with 3x5 flag. Flags don't last very long at that speed., but post and hooks work great.

I think he is talking about the smaller flags that mount to the luggage rack.......

Here's the setup that I am currently using. You can see the rubber grommet I was talking about. You can also see the zip-tie I use as well. I prefer the zip-tie because I have found that after exposing the flags to the weather conditions that they will stretch enough to slide up.

I like the zip-tie idea.

I'll be mounting the same flag pole on my rack shortly and follow your example regarding securing the flags.

A question. Do you find that those flag poles begin to slide on the round luggage rack after awhile leaning back from the wind? I've heard this from a few others who have them. I intend to place a small strip of duct tape around the rack (and of course inside the base) to increase the grip of the flag pole compression fitting.

That was gonna be my next question, but your pictures answered that. Thanks Mr hbrogan57, so you just punched a hole through and then zip tied them. I was thinking along the same lines, cause those rubber o rings are useless. I even thought about sewing them, but naw, lol too much work. Thanks again.
