Trike Kits

AH GEEZ My second post.

I currently ride a '09 Kawasaki Voyager ABS that I would like to trike. I am leaning toward the Cahmpion Kit because of the simplicity of it's build. At the present time Champion does not offer a reverse kit nor do they have ABS capibilities. While in Daytona last October i had the chance to look at the CSC kits and Motortrike kits but to me the Kawi CSC with reverse had too many moving parts and the Motortrike kit was Ok but both were over built to me.

I think that I could overcome the ABS problem but I have some question for you folks:

Do any of you ride a trike with ABS brakes?

For the Harley Triglide folks

Who makes the drive kits for the Triglides? They were made by Lehman at one point. Champion bought Lehman last year when the founder of Lehman passed away.

How does the electric reverse work on the Triglides. Is it constructed like the Motortrike reverse?

I can't answer all your questions, Ray, but will comment on the reverse issue. It is possible that you have a physical reason that would make the reverse important for you. However, it is quite likely that you will find you don't even need it. I am very petite (5' tall only) and have ridden a trike since '06 without reverse. Until last spring I rode a Fat Boy/Champion trike and now on a V-rod/Hannigan. I have never had a problem pushing the trike back out of a parking spot or out of the garage, etc. I do make sure that I back into certain spots so that I can just drive out if there is an upward slope. But because the trike cannot tip over, it is very easy to maneuver.

Don't have enough time on a trike to give you any advice on the need for reverse or ABS.

Would be interested in hearing how the conversion goes and how the Voyager handles as a trike.

Ray, My 2007 Harley Police bike had ABS before I triked it with a Champion kit. I do not miss the ABS at all. I have a AIM reverse. I VERY seldom use it. I love my Champion straight axle kit. I've got over 50k on it. From all that I have read electrical reverse is okay but mechanical is better if you have to have one. Of course if electric is your only choice and you need it go for it.
