Backing into a Trailer

It will pop the breaker. Even a slight uphill slope strains the little motor.

Gotta wonder if the reverse motor is too weak to go up that hill or if the wiring's so small it can't handle the current an uphill pull would put on the motor?

My '11 TG has NEVER popped the breaker while using Reverse. As I said in another post, I backed my TG & pop-up camper up the ramp of my enclosed trailer the day I bought it and others have said that they also have no or little problems with popping the breaker, I guess some of us just got lucky. Also, during my riding season the TG is backed into my enclosed trailer every time it comes home.

I think the easy thing for AZTriGlide to do is for her to just try backing into her trailer and see what happens, but just in case learn ahead of time where & how about the breaker. We can only hope that she joins the LUCKY group.

I do hope I get lucky and my TG will back in. Haven't purchased the trailer yet. Just picked up our new RV yesterday. Spent today transferring things from our Raptor (Toy Hauler) into the new drivable RV. pepper
If the breaker trips, I thinking of getting a winch to back the TG in first.

Have out thought about a snowmobile style trailer...V-nose with a door in the front? Looks like it would be easyer to tie the trike down in.

Yes, would love one. They are a little out of my price range. Also with us towing it with a 25'6" RV, we our trying to keep the length down. Now looking at a 7x14 up from a 7x12. Trying to stay as close to $5,000 as possible.

Just talked to these people and they will build you a brand new 14x7 daul axle with a ramp door in the back and a 4 foot ramp door in the V-nose for $3225.00. There would be a delevery charge on top of that. I went thru a similar company when I bought my 30 foot 8' tall, 8' wide enclosed gooseneck trailer made by United. Had it built and delivered for $6800.00. You will get a better price from someone that don't stock any trailers, just has them custom made. You might be suprised as to how cheap you can get one if you call around. Mine didn't come from this place, just using it for a example.

eighty80, FWIW: When I had the batteries replaced in our golf cart, I asked the guy how to keep the battery posts from corriding, as I was cleaning our posts every few months. His answer was simple: don't over fill the batteries with water. Too much water in the battery and as the battery heats up with use, fumes exit the easiest place: the terminals. Since the batteries were replaced about a year ago, no more battery post corrosion.

I have a 2010 wing it will back up a slight hill but any thing steep or abrupt... forget it.

Well seein I already hi-jacked this thread, (sorry OP), I might as well keep goin.

Did some more measuring and checkin. I ended up getting a marine deep cycle battery and box. Got a 3000# atv winch from Harbor Frieght. I don't think I need anymore than this. (cost wise). It should pull the Trike in the yrailer if ever needed.
The winch paper work did say,"check with doctor before running winch if you have a pacemaker/defibulator implant" which I have. I think the tether cord will be long enough that I can stand outside while running it.? If not, it's a lot easier to find someone to push a button than push a Trike.

Now for a break in the weather to get it installed.

Actually found I can back the TG into our Haulmark V-Nose Low Hauler. Breaker didn't trip, surprised me. Not sure if I'll ever do it again but nice to know it will work!

A small winch would be the way I would suggest. You would find a lot more use of it other than loading your trike. I bought one from Harbor Freight for around $50.00.
