Hello group....i have just bought my first trike. I was wondering if there is
anything that i might need to know about adding on or improving. Like a rake kit? Can the handlebars be adjusted?

First, welcome to Trike Talk.
Tell us what kind of trike and conversion you have. I'm sure you'll get all the information you need from our diverse group.
I have a 2002 Goldwing with a Motor Trike kit. I would love to have the handlebars back another 2" or so. Plus would like some input about how the rake effects handling.Thanks....
Welcome glad you joined us.If you need a rake kit PM Zook he can help you out.RIDE SAFE
Welcome Rick. A rake kit would make steering a lot easier. Assuming you are having problems turning to start out. It might take a couple hundred miles to get used to operating a trike.
Steering kit would be your best bet. However, if you want to try something a little less expensive first, go with risers, like Kuryakyn, and there are other brands as well. Also a super brace may work for you. Not the end all solution, but easy to install.

Welcome Rick!
Thinking that the rake kit would be the first change. It is the one change that is going to change the dynamics the most. Then tweak the bars from there.
I have a 2002 Goldwing and now a 2005 wing with the CSC Cobra trike kit and 4.5* rake kit. There is a difference in reach. The trike feels more comfortable to me.
Welcome to triking,
I went to a 4.5 rake on my 2002 motortrike wing in 2007 as I had a broken collar bone & wow did it make a differance. Also put some blocks on my handle bars that moved them back and in about 2 inches. It fits me a lot better.
Happy Triking
Thanks making me feel welcome. I hope to become more involved as i get into my trike.

Welcome to Trike Talk. The rake is not necessary but very helpful and makes your trike turn easier. Lots of info on this site. Just poke around and you'll find many who will help and provide their opinions.
Rick,
If your trike is the Yamaha 1300 Tourer, you might want to look into the RSTD bars.
