About 5 years ago, one of my riding buddies developed inner ear balance problem (maybe it was vertigo). <br />
He was told his riding days were over, so he sold his HD.....and bought a spyder. Long story short....he rode it for about a month, and boy we teased the sh!t out of the poor guy. He ended up selling it, and took a huge loss on it and quit riding altogether. I always thought it had sumpin to do with all the &quot;ribbing&quot;, but I ran into him a while back and he told me how bad he disliked<img src="images/smilies/grin.gif" border="0" alt="" title="big grin" class="inlineimg" /> the thing.

Thank you to all for your kind input and recommendations. We've come to the end of our research trail and have spoken with folks who have had their 1800 's converted with the CSC Viper kit by the installer we've selected. Everyone is happy - reports are positive!<br />

I'll be back in Alberta next week and will place my order then.

I just took a white one of those for a ride today, talk about smooth ride. The dealer I bought my 2012 GL1800 from is also a Hannigan dealer who happened to have a white 2012 GL1800 they just triked during the winter, I ask them if I could take it for a spin. I was surprised at how smooth it road and how well it handled, it had the Hannigan easy steer kit.

Hope you get some good responses from your post. As I mentioned, I have the Road Smith which is IRS, and the ride is just right for me. I've not had experiences on other trikes, just did a lot of homework like you're doing. After putting it all together, it was the RS for me. See if you can hit some different trike brand shops for a 'try it out' ride, then get some recommendations for a good installer. An installer is a very important key to a good trike no matter what brand you select. One addition reason I chose the RS, seemed to me less maintenance on the drive train with the grease seals. Everyone has a different take on a particular brand trike depending on what they ride. Good luck....

I could tell you how smooth the ride is on both of my Roadsmith Trikes. Only you can determine which Trike has the smoothest ride and if you have a passenger it will be important what their opinion is as well. My suggestion would be to demo as many as you can, then decide. The best place would be to get to a motorcycle rally where several manufacturers may be at.

Been trying my ride for the last 50K miles and loving every minute. I've got a CSC Cobra XL w/ a 6 degree rake along with the fully adjustable shock option. Gotta tell ya, my two wheeled '08 Wing would never keep up with this setup in the twisties. On the open country road, riding two up, with the adjustable shock setting minimized, the CSC IRS of the Cobra seems to eat up every road surface irregularity.

Is the CSC kit the best? Then answer is a simple no, because 'best' is a most subjective word. Would I buy another CSC conversation? Absolutely.

One of our Gold Wings is a solid axle Lehman Monarch II.<br />
The other is an independent suspension Motor Trike Adventure.<br />
They both ride VERY smoothly - if you can find a decent road to ride around here.<br />
The oil boom has brought so much heavy truck and equipment traffic to our area that the roads are complete garbage. <br />
We have to get at least 60 miles away from our immediate area to appreciate and enjoy the ride.<br />
Whenever we are on the worst of these roads it makes us want the 2-wheelers back. <br />
3 wheels really make you sit up and notice the road surface.<br />
But, we sure appreciate those 3 wheels when it comes to turning and backing on an uneven gravel &amp; sand parking lot....so much easier on the knees.

Mine is a BMW Hannigan conversion and it is the aces of trike bodies!

It is comparable to the Roadsmith you see on the GW trikes in width and length. As far as I'm concerned, those are the two choices I would make in a trike conversion. Both have IRS suspension, torsion bars, a huge trunk space, and they really look good.
