    Talking I am finnaly here!

Hello all, it is me Mattel (Stallion owner 641), and although I have not taken delivery yet I have only a few weeks, as my future toy is scheduled for paint tomorrow! I was down in SC for Wing Ding yesterday with my Co-pilot and we were jazzed about the test drive. It was everything we thought it would be and more!

We talked to JD (the production manager for TMS) and he was super cool! After seeing the Black cherry in person we decided we liked Candy apple better, and since our trike was not painted yet we were able to make the switch (Score for TMS customer service!). This is quite the machine, and we can't wait to start busting bugs!

Mattel, welcome to the board. Glad you were able to test-drive the stallion and that TBMS was able to accomodate you with the color change! We did the same thing, but changed from the red to the yellow! TBMS provides good customer service and has taken care of whatever problems we had. The dealer in Daytona has been exceptional, and no doubt you will get the same service in your area.

I think we were #135, so they have come a long way. Let us know when you get it! AND post pictures!!!

    Default oil change

    Hi Mikey,
I use Rhino ramps 34.00 and found that a 22 in channel lock pliers was needed to remove same.Broke two filter wrenches.Hopefully, the next time the filter wrench that fits on the bottom of filter and requires 1/2 socket driver will work.Because of limited space this should work well. Also, the capacity is 4 qts. Las Vegas provided the advice on using the huge pliers the first time.

3-togo, I used a Craftsman 16" arc joint pliers. I could not get a good grip. I broke one oil filter wrench and the other wrenches kept slipping off. Oil filters with a 1/2" socket drive will probably work the best. I am using a Fram oil filter with a rough edge at the end. Hope this will work. When you greased the drive shaft joints, did you have a problem? I did and I had to use the needle grease fitting adaptor which I bought at an auto parts store (see picture).

    Default Drive Shaft Lube

    Hi,
I've looked in the manual and did not find any reference for lubing drive shaft. What alerted you to the neccesity of lubing drive shaft with such low miles. The manual which took forever to arrive is very rudimentary,to say the least. Thanks for the update.

3-togo, when we received our Stallion, the dealer went over the vehicle and explained in detail that when we change the oil every 5,000 miles, since we have it jacked up, we should put a shot of grease in both universal joints on the drive shaft and the two grease fittings on the steering linkage. Hope this helps. What extras do you have on your Stallion???

    Default Accessories

    HI,
I purchased pockets for cell phone and keys located below steering wheel and two large pockets on side;however, they used velcro dble back tape and still working on design. Las Vegas shop uses mechanical fasteners.I'm going to try a different adhesive. Love the utility of pockets. Also purchased a back rest from LV with stallion in red. Factory objected to using stallion,so new ones are plain. Also had power plug installed at Southwest trikes.Looking for dog carrier but most carriers seem to small that i've observed installed on stallion. Glad to hear Daytona is giving good service. Thanks for the info on drive shaft.

    3 togo,
What is a power plug? You may want to use contact cement to attach the pouches. I am in the process of putting some fabric pouches in the trunk and that is was I plan on using, it sticks realy well to slick surfaces and does not come off in the heat. You can pull it off with great difficutly and clean off the residue with scraping and solvents if you change your mind.

Mattel, a power plug is an accessory plug. We use it for our GPS or our Gerbing heated clothing or to charge our cell phone. We also have an emergency light that we can plug into it (if we break down after dark). The power plug line runs direct to the battery and has a 15 amp fuse. Hope this helps. Hello to all.

We are late in joining this forum. My wife is the PROAD owner of #175 (WHITE). She took delivery from Libby and Russel at Thoroughbred Motorsports of Daytona on March 9th. Her trike was delivered by Jeff Vey himself as they put it on the display truck for Daytona Bike Week so she could get it then.

The trike was completed the day before they left for Daytona so they made room on the truck. She waited 18 months but it was well worth it. Like everyone else she has handed out hundreds of brochers and answered all the questions.

We have had only 3 problems, A lose battery cable connection to the alternator battery post, allowed the battery to discharge. Russel came in on a Sunday morning, found and fixed the problem. This was in April while we were in Leesburg Fl. for the weekend rally. That is GREAT dealer service, way beyond the call.

The shift lever stuck in Park problem, and a blown fuse for the radiator cooling fan. We encountered those problems out in Sturgis. The cooling problem occurred near the top of a mountain overlooking Mt. Rushmore. A frantic cell phone call to the factory for help in finding the correct fuse was handled by their GREAT mechanical engineer Adam. The fuse was not identified plainly enough for me to find and ADAM traced the circuit from his drawnings and told me the fuse labled "Climate Control" should be the one, sure enough it was blown.

The cause was rain water getting under the seat in a driving rain storm the night before. The trike runs so cool that it took 40 miles and going up the mountain to heat the engine to the point of my wife telling me that there was something wrong, because the egine was running rough. YES it was hot, but did not boil over.

On our way back from Sturgis (we trailered) we dipped down into Texas and stopped at the factory. This is a must due for all Stallion Owners. To say that Jeff, Diane, Suzi and ALL the staff at Thoroughbred Motorsports treat you like family is an understatement. NOW GET THIS, Suzi asked me if I had time for them to look at MJ's trike, we unloaded and they spent 2 hours going completely through it making sure everything was up to par.

They replaced some screws that had surface rust on them, repaired a sticking brake pad, sealed the fuse panal so the blown fuse issue should not happen again, replaced the switched that caused the shift lever to lock in park. All that service without even asking and I did not even have to sign a warranty form. NOW THAT IS SERVICE. Try that somewhere else.

I had the same issue with the oil filter on the first oil change. I do not expect it to be an issue next time. I lube the gasket and only hand tighten the filter.

MJ LOVES HER TRIKE. That's all for now. Mary Jo and Ted Migala, Key Largo Florida

Hello, Mary Jo and Ted, welcome! Thanks for all the information regarding your Stallion. You will find a lot of good ideas, accessories offered, and great information on this forum. We also have problems (again) with the gear shift sticking in "park", and also with blown fuses and not being sure which ones were which.

During the driving rain, did the amp gauge and air pressure gauge go out? That happened to us, but after it dries out, it works! We agree that Russel and Libby at TMS in Daytona give the BEST customer service.......ever!! They are always available. We stopped by there during Biketoberfest (Thursday). Post pictures when you can. ........Mikey..

Mikey broke a bone in his right hand, so driving is out....for 5 more weeks! Looks like I will have do the driving. I took my first drive today (around the neighborhood) with our new helmets! It's a different feeling, being in the driver's seat. Have to get used to the braking with the left foot, it was kind of awkward.

Mikey the next time Natlie tell’s you to quit sampling the food don’t do it when she is in striking distance. Next time she might have a butcher knife in her hand instead of the rolling pen. OUCH!
