    I'm also a Honda newby.:yes: Now I'm meeting the nicest people!!

    What I'm wondering is if there are any recalls that I should check for? She's a '94 SE. Been a trike right from the start, so I've been told. How does one go about checking these things?

    A trike what kit MFG? Must be Motor Trike that is a real newbi. not many doing trikes back then. Mine is a 1997 triked in 99

    Hey Bob, Glad to have you with us... I would imagine on a '94 model, that any sort of recall or problems have already been taken care of. (Got the Bugs ironed Out)... If your kit is a Motor-Trike, I would only suggest that you see about the rear brake upgrade. There were some issues about size and wear with the early ones. Keep us posted and throw some photos on here when you can... Ride safe and keep Grinnin...

    Yup, it's a Motor Trike.

    I just found a label from the Registrar of Imported Vehicles. Think it's telling me it was imported to Canada in June 07, 2001. A GVWR of 585 KG. That's about 1290 LBs. This is the proof that bike has been made to conform to Canadian road safety standards. Interesting, huh?:no:

    Vaily italesting.... the brake up grade was to add disk, it never materialized. ( I know someone that is still waiting. ) How many miles on the bike? No Honda issues I know of .. only one I know of is don't let it sit to long. Ride ride ride ..Does it have . over 60,000 miles? You may consider new fork springs. Is it raked? ( look and see how close the rear of the front fender is to the bike) . Some say installing 1200 springs is better if it is, also how is the front tire. if getting low consider the rear tire on the front or even the 80 series rear tire on front . I did it and it was a world of a difference

    I was going to ask about disc brakes but found the thread on here about it. Kinda thought I might do it myself, SIL owns auto wrecker so parts are free, but it's one of those back burner things. Just keep these ones up and they should be good for a long time. The bike only has 22,500 miles on it so that means I've got to get riding! It has been raked. Never heard that implied the addition of heavier springs. Are progressives recommended?
    Yes the front tyre will need to be replaced soon. Why the rear on the front?

    1st u don't want a radial on front 2nd the rear is a flatter tire u won't be using the side wall as the front will no longer lean. The rear tire has 2 times the tread depth. It will give you 25,000 miles not the 7 or 8 from an OEM or normal front tire. I used a Macadam 50 rear tire 130x 80 x18 ( normal size is 130x70 x18 ) . This lifted the front up just a little and rolls easier . Running in reverse rotation is your call some say yes and other don't agree. If u ask u will start a war or as we call it a p match . I am not sure if the 130 80X18 is still available . Most are now using the Pilot Activ ( no e ) rear tire. This works trust us.

    Seeing as there is no lean why not use a car tyre on the front? Should give exceptional tyre life. :yes: :no: ?

    As far as running a directional tyre backwards goes... I wouldn't want to start a p match, especially not in this hot weather! Will research Pilot Activ.

    My new to me 2005 Goldwing came with a radial front. Should I change to a bias or just wear the radial out first?

    It is your money . If it were me I would run it and get my money worth out of it. The Radial has soft sides that allow the tire to bend for corners. We don't need it and it is actually un desirable in a triking world. You will be needing a new tire soon enough . Normal wear on front tires is about 7,000 miles . that will give you plenty of time to find a good deal on the Pilot Activ.
