    Question Need your feedback..

As the site owner, I'd like to ask you all a question..
Do you feel that the information posted on this forum has been of any assistance in helping you make your trike or trike conversion purchase decision? If so, in what way? What did you read here that contributed? What did you buy and why? OR..What are you thinking of buying and why?

I'd really like some feedback on this, so for your trouble I will give a free TrikeTalk.com T-Shirt to a randomly selected person who posts on this thread.

    Thanks,
    Zook

Turned 60 last year and decided to buy an electra glide after being away from motorcycles for about 20 years. Loved the electra glide but dropped it twice because of bad ankles. Thought I would sell it but then I found trike talk. Couldn't afford a true trike so I put a Voyager conversion kit on the bike. If I had not found trike talk and all the wonderful information there is, I would probable have given up bikes. I don't post a lot but I would like to thank all the members here for their help in keeping me riding.

I have found reading this site has given me ideas on how to improve my ride. I have noticed what people have done to their trikes and have asked if they mind if I copy them, and the people in this site are the best and have always said yes.
Ideas, know how to, and if products are good or bad are just a few of the things this site has helped me with.
I have also noticed how this site will help a complete stranger when they run into problems by showing them how to do it, where to go for parts, clothing, or even where to visit in their part of this great land of ours.
New things from sponsor companies or just what is new out there is good for us trikes, so we can improve our ride. These things are shared in this site.

    Regards,

    Rosy

This great site came on line after my 1st trike experience by about 15 years, so I can't say TT was a factor in getting us into triking, BUT (yeah, even a skinny guy like me has a big but) when the GL1500SE Motortrike met its' demise I did a lot of research on a replacement. A key factor on our final decision was the opinions of the folks right here on Trike Talk.

As a future owner of a 12' RS trike (hopefully in a few weeks), I was able to make my final decision on what motorcycle and kit to get. This site has a lot of info on all the makes and models. You just have to read through it all and what it comes down to is what you perfer. I was looking for a Can Am Spyder at first then decided to go this route due to the "NANNY" problems it has. You see I want to spend more time riding than working on the machine. I will have spent alot of money so I want to enjoy it. I feel for the folks who has Spyders constantly in the shop and they still have to make payments each month. Once I get my GoldWing RS Trike, I am sure to have many more questions then for everyone here at TT. These last few months I have had many of sleepless nights but hopefully here by Kentucky Derby weekend, I will have my shiny new Red with silver two tone Goldwing Level 2 with Roadsmith Trike kit. Ride Safe and enjoy the view.

I owned my trike before I found Trike Talk. Mine is a homebuilt that will, it seems, forever exist in a constant state of evolution. She's come a long way since I brought her home, but there will always be something that needs tweeking, requires modification or just needs to progress a bit further to suit my needs and tastes. It's truly been a labor of love.

While I don't post a whole lot, I spend a great deal of time surfing the various threads looking for ideas and information. The experience has been invaluable. I've learned a great deal on the forum, and hopefully have contributed a little bit as well. Even made a couple friends!

So, Zook, I say great job to you and your crew! Thanks for providing us with a terrific place to exchange ideas, share good times and help each other along the way.

    P.S. I wear a 4XL...

TT has been a great place for a good bunch of people to toss around ideas and experiences that some work and some don't. I for one am happy to have found this site not only because I gain information but I can also pass along information from my experiences. Yes, TT has been an influence on my purchases, but I had my training wheels already by the time I found this site. Keep up the good work.

I joined this forum due to all the diversification. You can find information on just about any popular trike build. Most everyone is supportive and respectful of others choice of brand. You can go to Honda, Harley and several more makes to find out all the pros and cons of ownership, this is a big plus instead of having say just a Goldwing Forum or Harley Forum.

After 45 years of riding two wheels and making an impulsive purchase on my 1st three wheeler with much regret, I sought out information here to better educate myself and expand my knowledge on my next purchase.

We went with a 2012 CSC Viper for several reasons...The main one being the quality, ease of mainentance, and longevity of the 6 cylinder Honda. The second the handling and sporty ride, not to mention the great looks of the CSC with the new one piece drive shaft, Indy car technology suspension, and their own production rear end housings.

This is a great place for anyone interested in owning three wheels to gain knowledge enabling them to make an educated purchase.

When I found Trike Talk I had already ordered my trike kit. Did a lot of research prior and got some good input from my builder before deciding on the Champion. Trike Talk was of great help in easing my mind that I had made a good decision in my choice and by using Trike Talk as a learning platform I have been able to make an easy transition to the trike. Trike Talk has been and remains to be a great research tool to me in setting up my trike and in making me a more informed and better rider. You don't really need to ask many questions, most can be answered by reading previous threads and studying the responses of people who make up more experience than any one person writing on the subject. This forum is indeed the greatest amount of information I have ever seen on one subject.

The first part of my reply is easy, if it were not for this site I would not own the black 2011 Tri Glide that sits out in my shop because I found it in the Classifieds on this site.

Because of this site, just from reading posts, I knew that the mods already done to the TG were what was needed and made the deal I got just that much better. I have also learned what other mods I wanted to do to my TG and do it without making the mistakes other member had already made. I have been able to buy stuff from other member at a good deal, at least I hope so.

Actually I got a little ahead of myself, I first found this site when I got serious about getting a trike. I was already leaning toward an HD Trike, but after reading so much about both HD & Honda Trikes I knew I should a least look at both. I found a shop that had several good looking Honda Trikes, but like what I had already read here, I couldn't fit on a Honda. Because of my knees I could not even sit, but after reading so many good comments about Hondas, on this site, I wanted find out for myself. And that leads me to one of the best things about this site, there is no back biting from one brand to the other and when some jerk shows up causing problems they don't last long. It seems that everyone will try to help everyone else.

I think this is by far the BEST Trike Forum on the web.

If you are a triker wanna -be or an old hand, this a comprehensive educational and social site for you!

The adds at the side of the page are sponsors and trike manufactures so it's a one stop shopping center to compare the product of each manufacturer.
They offer different differentials, suspensions, swing arms, bodies, etc.

And you can read the pro's and con's of each one by reading the posts found on this site.

You can type in a question about a product and the site will do a search for you to direct you to your topic and the observations of others.

I had first really noticed trikes with a critical eye when i became disabled.

I checked out the new Harley Tri-Glides but knew i could never afford the asking price.
I had the opertunity to ride a friends Harley trikes enough times to convince myself that i wanted to convert my 1989 Harley Tour Glide ultra into a trike.
I reasoned that if i started with a model that already had all the bells and whistles and that i had owned and loved for 24 years i could have a compfortable and uniqe machine that i could continue to love for many years.

I knew my share about motorcycle mechanics but nothing about trikes.

Member, Lee H Mann educated me to the point that i realized that the first conversion ideas i had were'nt going to give me the machine i wanted and the hidden cost of conversion were'nt worth the end result. Lehman dosen't make a conversion for a bike as old as mine.
He educated me about the champion conversions and refered me to Bazooka the site owner for help.
    ( Thanks Lee)( Thanks Zook)

I then started to educate myself on this site about the advantages of a raked front end.

The suprise for me was to discover that the owners and administrators of this site could obtain the conversion parts i wanted and save me money in the process acting as a go between. ( Being involved in the trike community, They hear about sales etc. that i wouldn't know about.)

I was hesitant at first to spend so much money with total strangers
(Administrators, sponsors, or not), Not knowing anyone in the trike community, except what i had gleaned of them from posts i had read, But soon came to realize i could trust their guidance and honesty in business dealings.

I knew that i was going to do the conversion myself, and posted a thread for advice for the first time trike builder and have received advice and guidance that have headed off most issues i would have faced and have further told me how they went about the projects they did themselves The real plus is that i get answers on questions and there are some who go out of their way to help me out. ( you know who you are)

I have even made some friends here and have come to care about their welfare as individuals!
I am posting pictures of the uncompleted conversion on photo bucket. At least it will serve to remove any doubts about wether you want to try it yourself?

If you have any doubts about the value of this site, Try what i just talked about on E-Bay old son?
