Question do you have an adress for a motorcycle boneyard?

I'm looking for an ignition swith to fit a 1989 flht.

If you know of a "REPUTABLE" Motorcycle bone yard out there i would appreciate the web address or Business Name.

I recently got burned by an online car parts salvage yard and am having a hard time getting back $ 400.00 they have apperantly ripped me of for.

By the Way folks stay away from and outfit that calls themselves GM Auto partz (spelled with a Z) in Stamford, Connecticut they are abunch of theives!

Oz powersports is a HUGE "used parts" yard. They have a wide variety of "salvage" parts as well as new parts, etc. their website is Oz Powersports, The Midwest's Largest Motorcycle Salvage, ATV Salvage and Superstore and they are out of Kansas. If memory serves me right, they have right about a 5 acre yard with nothing but motorcycles... Hope that helps!

Paul, we have a motorcycle salvage here in SLC that may be able to help you out......he might even know where you could get one. Have you tried any big parts houses like VTWIN, or JP?Map of Bill's Boneyard & Repair in Salt Lake City

Here is the link for Bill's Boneyard, Bill is a little short of a 30 watt incandescent bulb, but he knows his inventory and how to get stuff for older bikes.

    Ok guys thanks a bunch.

With a bike as old as mine a boneyard might come in handy!

Have you actually found an ignition switch yet? I have bought parts from Pinwall Cycle (a bone yard) on ebay with good results. Good luck on the switch, I will be looking for one in near future.

well i guess this forum thread may be of use to allot of people.

It would give a place to start looking. Here is another source.

Used Motorcycle Parts - LIVE search of Motorcycle Salvage Yards

I don't know where they are located.

American badass says there is a big one in salt lake, I expect he knows what he is talking about and i trust his guidance.

That boneyard is just in the next state for me, So it Seems close.

I know there used to be one in Rapid City SD. but cant swear to its still being in operation.

    Robs Used Harley Parts

I just located a gas tank fuel gage sending unit for my 89 tour glide.

The part is obsolete and i got a fair price.

You can try these guys, but know up front, I haven't dealt with them personally. As such, I can't vouch for them on that basis.

And then there's these guys, who have a great reputation in my local area.

I realize these are in a different region, but if you strike out close to home, I'm sure they'd ship whatever you needed.

There used to be a place in the detroit area called Mary jane's. That had anything you wanted. Might look them up. I know I had a catalog with older stuff you could buy. Can't remember the name of the place.
