Hello from Hickory Withe, TN. (just outside Memphis) I just purchased a Black/Silver 2012 Wing and am having an HTS1800 Roadsmith Trike kit installed in about two weeks. Like many others I'm getting old (I just entered the fourth quarter) and my knees are bad. I am a moderate rider and ride about 10K miles per year with my three sons. I'm looking forward to being a forum member and would appreciate any tips for Trike riding. I rode one for the first time the other day and the first curve was a real eye-opener!!!

Welcome OOldog, take your time, read the riding tips on here, they will help you. Keep your eyes and chin pointing at where you are going and Lock you outside elbow to push.

Welcome to trike paradise! You can search TT for a plethora of riding tips. Bottom line is that it just takes time and getting comfortable with your trike. I only have about 1200 miles of trike experience....it has been more difficult for me than some, but I am getting used to the trike dynamic.
Definitely spend some time in parking lots, developing your throttle & clutch techniques and coordination. I am still working on shifting in curves and while turning...it's like learning mandarin for hells sake!:wave4:

Welcome aboard!

It is indeed, a different riding dynamic. Just start out slow, take your time and get the feel of it. Unlike a 2-wheeler, you have to "steer" through the curves. Like Lunchbox said, "Keep your eyes and chin pointing at where you are going and lock your outside elbow to push". You'll also find that you drive a lot more with the throttle than you do on a bike, if that makes any sense.

Now get out there and have some fun! It's gonna be near 70 degrees here today, and I'm puttin' my azz in the saddle and my knees in the breeze! pepper

Welcome glad you joined us.Figure 8's in a empty parking lot will help. You should be ready when RALLY time comes.Hope to see you there.RIDE SAFE

Lots of great advice here! I found I had psyched myself out about riding the trike for the first time. Luckily, I let intuition help me along, and the trike and I got along fine.<br />

Have a great time!
