My Trike with a 124" has a life!!

After many months of scrimping and saving I can finally say I will get to ride my trike with my 124" tomorrow. A Big Thank You to TorqueInc ( John ) for all his advice, help, guidance and his friendship with my project.

I got my heat cycles done and Im ready to put the first of many miles on my trike again. The head work John has done and cams he designed will make my 124" a serious torque monster

Got my first 30 mile break in and I have a really strong 124" that is just wanting to run!!! It was tough to restrain myself from going over 2800 rpms on this first round of riding. Going to drain the first round of break in oil and ride some more

John ( Torque Inc ) has hit a home run with his head work and custom cam design. Thank you John!!!

S&S 124 with -10.9cc pistons
HD bathtub heads set 85.5cc 1.99 intake / 1.61 exhaust
Heads flowed to match my HPI 58/58mm TB
Custom ground cams 611 intake / 575 exhaust
Engine compression static 10.52 corrected 9.4
V&H Power Dual head pipe customized to fit my 2008 trike
CVO Mufflers with Fullsac 2.25 baffles ( Love the mellow sound they make )

124 inches or for the rest of us non-HD folk, 2031cc, WOW! That is one heck of a big V-twin. My Spyder comes in at a puny 990cc in comparison. I 'm looking forward to following your updates. How about some photos of this monster?

Here it is. Its looks like a normal engine, A sleeper engine is inside it!!!

Its a V&H Power Dual Headpipe for a 09 I customized to fit on my 08 without having to buy a 09 oil pan. I also took the hump out of the left side exhaust so I now have a left turn with a straight run to the left muffler.

The heat shields tops I cut off so I can easily remove the pipe and shields together and I used VHT ceramic exhaust paint on the header

Got a little more riding in this evening. Raised the rpms up to 3200 and the torque from my 124 moves the trike with so much ease. I'm at 70 really quick!!

And did I tell you how much I love the mellow tone of my exhaust?? LoL

Thats one of the best parts of doing a roll your own engine, the stealth. Its easy for unsuspecting folks to try and twist your tail only to have their azz handed to them.

I need a set of head pipes just like that to fit my 2012/103 sittn on the bench. I'm not gonna run the engine with them, just for display and keep mice out. Got any around that you might have made a mistake on the first time??
I got an AICD implant so I can't weld either. Thoughts??

What my build cost me was lower than most. I did the wrenching with removal and assembly from the engine case up and installation. Also I did a little barter with some extra parts I had that John could use. My build is similar to the new S&S LC engine. I used my own take off heads and John actually had a custom cam ground for my needs and the engine instead of using off the shelf cams.

There is other costs associated with this big and tall of a engine. I had to upgrade my clutch, Buy a larger Throttle Body and had to modify my exhaust brackets and brace between the cylinders.

If you are truly interested in a 124 S&S is now offering 2 versions completely assembled and comes with a warranty. The first one is the standard high compression with the 640 cams and the lower compression version with the 585 cams.

As of Jan 1, 2013 all T-series engines will accommodate Stock length manifolds, either 52 or 58mm Throttle body will work. If you are looking for torque you should look at our low compression 124's with 585 cams, they are built for higher torque with less horsepower.
