Making the pilgrimage to Milwaukee for the hundred and 10 celebration.

Living 1600 miles away Milwaukee, it really stinks that my gas tank only holds 2.8 gallons and can only go for 100 miles between fill-up's. If I had the larger 6 gallon tank I think I would really entertain then idea of riding back to Milwaukee with some of my friends for the 110th anniversary. I have about six friends that are riding their bikes, and three friends that are trailering their bikes. The parents of one of my friends parents live a couple of blocks away from the museum and have rented out this entire property as a parking lot for the event. I'm sure making the pilgrimage is somthing that we all wish we could, unfortunately I don't see a way I can do it. I thought about trailoring, but I don't haven vehicle to pull it.

I suggest you get a swap meet tank and install it for your trip. It might not look "Spiffy" but it'll be functional & cheap!!

i just put directions into google maps for logan village queensland australia to milwaulkee USA and it said 24,241 Kilometers, i will be there this year. i agree totaly with HDRUSS. any junkyard tank will be fine for a road trip as long as it isnt rusty or dirty inside and doesnt leak.. thats all you need from a tank

Way back when wife's first bike was a somewhat custom Sportie. At 100 miles we started looking for gas stations in earnest. Stopping and standing up every 100 miles isn't such a bad thing. May add 5 minutes to your journey, but will add a year to your butt's live. Rt. 66 back to Chicago is a great trip, bike, trike, or trailer.

A swap meet tank is a gas tank purchased from a vendor at a motorcycle swap meet!!

Maybe you should try another forum that has a section for your particular brand and model. I'm sure that they will be able to advise you on what tanks fits your bike. - Russ

I have a 6 gallon tank on my two wheel Street Glide and a 5 gallon tank on my trike and very seldom go more than a hundred miles without stopping ( I have to pee more often than that ). There is no way I would let the tank size stop me.
