do you know if there is a way to tell old cans from new cans?
if your thinking about using the 3M product paint defender makes sure it has the upgraded nozzle. My application worked for about 40 sec before spewing out big globs of foam.
They are replacing bad product with new cans. not sure about recalls from shelves.

Good information. Think I'll wait unit they get the defect off the shelves. I don't need a mess.....
maybe 3m can give a lot number.. the local seller said no info from 3m yet on recall.
its a good product except it is only guaranteed for one yr. i expect it will last longer.

Just goes to show how "behind" I am at some, ok ok, most things! Never knew a "spray on" protection was out there that was even worth mentioning! I read some online reviews on this stuff. With the exception of the "nozzle drip" this stuff seems to work great! Figure I'll give some a test run on my "farm truck" before trying it on my baby! I probably wouldn't have even discovered this stuff if not for the forum, thanks again everyone for sharing information!
So let me get this straight.....
1) Do you wax/polish before you spray this on, or does it eliminate it?
2) It lasts for a year??? Where does it go?
3) To remove it does it all come off naturally, does it dissolve, do I have to pick it off?
4) Can this be used on wheels?
Watching the video:
1) The wax is applied so that it is easy to remove when you want.
2) The "year" thing bothers me too, IF it means you need to replace it yearly or so. It probably gets old and nasty looking after a year or so.
3) You remove it by running your fingernail along an edge, and it peels back a bit so that you can get hold of it.
4) Don't know.

Check out the 3-m, spray on paint defender nozzles.
The old nozzle can be identified by the small triangle on the top and the new nozzle has a large arrow.
As promised the can no longer spits big goobers of product on your work and does not gob up at the tip of the nozzle.
Tip: Prepare both fenders, but only shoot one fender at a time and REMOVE the masking tape from the first one before doing the other!
It dries quicker than you expect.
Follow the instructions and it comes out looking like a nice clear coat paint.
