Speedo Calibration

Would it be that hard for the MOCO to write a program for the screamin eagle tuner that would recalibrate your speedometer.
I guess i don't understand if the tts can do it why want the MOCO do it. When I bought the screamin eagle one I was a newbe wish I would have read more I would have gone with the TTS. sprinkman

I totally agree. When I changed the front gear it made my speedo off and I havn't gotten back to the right speed. Used the Screamin Eagle tuner to tune it also.

How much is it off? I have the SEPro tuner and didn't know about this. If I'm going faster than I think, I may have to change my screen name.

Mine is off about 5 miles an hour. Just keep that in mind when in highly patroled areas.

Most motorcycles are manufactured with an acceptable tolerance of 5mph variance in the speedometer (typically reads on the slow side). If you simply need an add on calibration unit, take a look at speedo healer. If has infinite adjustability, which allows you to simply "re-tune" it if you do a future gear change. I've used these on many motorcycles and they work beautifully! This web site is the sole importer of it into the US, and they distribute accordingly to other providers. It may be worth looking into for those who are bothered by the variances.

In the vast majority of cases, you're actually going slower than the speedometer reading.

Interesting unit. Have you used this unit on a Triglide for more than a 3mph adjustment? Or on any touring HD '07 up ? Those of us that have done the primary pulley change have found that the TTS,PV and TMax are the only units that will properly make that big of a change and allow you to get 6th gear light plus cruise to work properly.

To be honest, I have not used it on them.. I have however used one on my Suzuki B-king that has a built in gear indicator, and it did not affect it in any way.. They are very well known in the sport bike world, and have really been focusing in the touring side of things over the last several years as they are "little known" in this "part of the universe". I'd recommend giving them a call and asking them directly so you don't get misled, or lied to inadvertently by myself, or anyone else. Their staff is very knowledgeable; the times I've used them, I've (by pure chance) dealt with Todd, who is the president of the company...

Funny, the first 3 Harleys I owned didn't have a speedo. One of those didn't have a front break.

Screwball I think the top end on the hummers was only about 45 mph. most the time you didn't have to worry!!!

I am 8 mph slower than speedometer. Just would of thought moco would have a way to program the ecm. Like the tts.

That is just a money saving feature, free from MoCo !

I'm sure the biggest reason they will not add this to the SEPST is it is made for racing, in their mind race only vehicles which don't need speedometers would be the only ones changing the final drive ratio. I figure they don't give the dealers the tools because altering the final drive could impact emissions which would open the MoCo to legal problems.
