    Default Small jack for rear tire change

    Does anybody carry a small jack with them in case a rear tire needs to be changed? If so, what style and where did you get it? If you go out in the morning from your motel and find a flat tire, it might be simpler to jack it up and take it to the corner gas station for repair rather then waiting for Rescue Plus through GWRRA.

    Don't even want to think about removing a tire on a trip. Carry tire plugs, Slime and a tire inflator.

    I've given a few Local TRIKE TALK/TOI Members here, some Small Scissors Type Jacks from my Salvage Yard...mid-80s Small GM cars such as Cavaliers, etc. have some that are easy to store and use...might check out some Local Salvage Yards.....

    I have thought about a jack for the rear, but my better half reminded me we have "AAA RV Plus" so I let them worry about lifting the rear of the Stallion!

    Go on E-bay, look at#271260683948. It's an aluminum scissor jack, weigh's in at just under 3 lbs. with hand crank. Good for 4000 Newtons, what ever the hell that is! This one is a little pricey, I got one for $39.00 free shipping. Have to look around. Also might have to make an adapter to "cup" rear axle tube. Shouldn't take much. Just my 2 cents worth! P.S.

    Go to the junk yars & get 2 jacks like this for small car. Then cut off the flat part of one jack & have it welded to the other jack. You might find a fold up handle too.
    REMEMBER YOU HAVE TO GET 100 FT. LBS OF TORQUE ON THE LUG NUTS.& check them again after a 30 or so mile ride. & you can't haul a torque wrench with you, dropping to will mess up its calibration. so i imagine vibation would do the same.

    I have a jack out of an old escort i put in the trunk on trips.I also take a 1/2" drive 6" extension,ratchet & 3/4 socket.For me the space taken up is well worth it.

    I have had two flats on the rear. First time was 40 miles from anything so a jack wouldn't help, no spare, had plugs and stuff but it was the valve. Called road side and had a truck there in no time. Second time stopped to get gas and saw tire looked low and checked pressure and had none. Tried to air it up but no luck. Drove down the road to a tire place and got it fixed. My experience both times was that there is not enough weight on the trike to flatten the tire. It looks a little low and is kind of squishy but you can easily ride it to the corner station. INHO I don't see the need to have a jack, if you carried a spare maybe but it makes more sense to carry plugs and pump and perhaps some fix a flat or something like it.
