Glacier National Park

OK, I didn't have my RoadSmith yet and the spouse wasn't with me for this ride last summer on her Triglide, but this was the maiden voyage with her GoPro Hero 2. I thought maybe with summer coming and Glacier opening the Going to the Sun Road this week that ya'all might need some incentive for the ride out west. Great pics. I have been looking cor a moose roadside for years. Bears and groundhogs seem to be all I run across (figuratively speaking, of course).

I like the ride up to Logan Pass from the east side of the park then head down toward Kalispell. Sure beats that long slow climb up from the west. Just my opinion. Either way, beautiful country and one of my favorite National Parks.

We like to camp at Apgar on the west side. Hit Going To The Sun road about 7:00 a.m before all the traffic, and have lunch on the east side. Then head back over around 2:00. That way you get to see both directions in one day.

We just love this ride! One year we went east to west and turned around and went west to east! Just to do it again.

I am planning to go next month in August 2013 .<br />
My buddy has backed out so i will just have to go myself.<br />
The last time i rode the highway to the sun was 24 years ago and going back is on my bucket list.

I did Glacier about three weeks ago, got to say the scenery and roads are awesome, I have all the National Parks on my itinerary for the next 8 months.

Great pictures! Planning a trip to glacier next year. We are coming from Indiana. We went to bear tooth last year and loved it. Can I get some recommendations on biker friendly accommodations at and around glacier national park? Also other roads and parks close to that area that are a must see. We are planning the trip for beginning of August. Thank you.<br /><br />
