Raising Headlights on GL1800 Trike

I have a GL1800 Roadsmith Trike and headlights are still too low even with them adjusted as high as possible with the switch. I have been told there is an adjustment internally somewhere that will raise them even higher. I believe this to be a problem with all Roadsmith Trikes as they all seem to be higher in the rear than the front. My question is how does one raise the lights above their preset position? Any suggestions will be appreciated....

</div>They are a bit tricky to see but if you look up right at the back of the light assemblies you will see a plastic looking nut (sort of). I don't remember what the size is or which way to turn for up adjust but I bet it will be pretty easy to figure out. It has been several years since I messed with any GL1800 head lights but I don't remember it being difficult.<br />

Gold Rush has got it right. Search around for the info on at what distance you need to be from a wall and for the correct height to set them. If you can't find that info here it should be on the GL1800 forum.

The rake kit lowers the front on most trikes.

You can actually turn these with your bare hand. Just need a flashlight to see them well. Be sure and turn both same amount, worked on mine.

To adjust the head lights, simply lay on the floor next to the front wheel and look up. You will see a phillips head screw - turn it in the appropriate direction and keep track of where the light beam hits the wall several feet in front of the bike. Do the same for the other side until you get it right. If you follow the book, you will pull your hair out. Another friend on this forum explained this to me many months ago and now I am a happy rider at night again. By the way, adjust your electronic movement to the max down level while adjusting so you have some upward adjustment when finished. It is always better to be too hight rather than the opposite.
