Not really liking what I hear the government is doing. Homeland Security buying a billion rounds, Social Security 100,000, rounds, the FBI training with AR-15's or 16's. What are they expecting that the rest of us don't know about?

This is all just rumours and caused panic in all ammo supply stores because people would walk in and say "instead of just getting one box of ammo, how many can I get? " Now you multiply that by every shop and you have a shortage. The ammo suppliers are just now getting caught up, so as long as people don't panic anymore the shelves will fill up again.
I agree pepper
......Not to mention it drove the prices up ,,,just as it was designed to do !!....
we all have our faults .....others point them out to us......guess we know what theirs are

</div>Rumors? Where the government is involved, somehow I doubt it.
I still haven't seen ammo on the shelves. Could this be a back door approach to gun control. You can buy your gun if you want but you can't get ammo for it. Who's going to buy a gun if you can't get ammo?<br />
I myself have plenty of 45 ACP and 44 Mag I've reloaded. I tried everywhere to buy .380 Auto but nobody has anything except cartridges that not too many use.

Not sure if I have free time or I just forgot everything I was suppose to do.
Retired and highly recommend it.

</div>I've been able to get what I need as of late, heck I could have bought bucket loads of ammo for .380 & 9mm. The local Wallymart has had some decent quantities come in. What has worked best for me is every time I'm in Walmart I swing buy the ammo, most of the time in the early am is when I find it in stock.

Yikes, you mean it disappears during the day by avid ammo shoppers? If so, that tells you something.
Here recently I bought .223 from Mexico at our local gun shop. Forty five dollars for 50 shells, not remanufactured. Seems to be good ammo. I guess if Holder can send guns to Mexico, Mexico can send us ammo.

The billion rounds that was 'bought' hasn't gone anywhere. Its sitting around.
Homeland Security hasn't fronted any money by what I've heard. The whole thing was they demanded that the ammo manufacturers are to have 1 billion rounds ready at any point any time for them to get. Being as the government is the biggest buyer of the ammo, a smart company wouldn't say no to that.
So in essence, the ammo manufacturers are playing catch up in getting ammo on the shelves. I'm sure part of the move was to 'backdoor' gun control. Screwed me on getting a new 45 since prices shot up.
Hopefully this 'panic' dies off. Its starting to annoy me and the gun nut friends I have. Not sure if the link will work, but we enjoy doing some stuff like this

You know, this makes sense. Why would Homeland Security buy it when they can send out a 'demand'? Means they don't have stock pile squat to ward off insurrection.
The manufacturers would still get the money, but if not stockpiled, the government would break the contracts they have with them. I think all of them should tell them to screw off and distribute the ammo to the consumers. Just my opinion.
Temple, we are on the same page. Anyone that will tell the government to "screw off" is someone I respect.

That sounds good, but people are scared of their own government and seeming follow lock step all the commands. The IRS, NSA, drones, ObamaCare, Homeland Security, all control tools. History shows that's a real bad thing.
Totally agree with bikerbillone. History supports his statement.

Thanks, Rod.....Nice to have company on that when ya think the flame is coming.
Hopefully this thing gets stopped before it becomes ugly. Its not even just here that there is much grumbling and discontent for the government. Riots all over the world over similar stuff : People sick and tired of the way the government is treating them. Only a couple ways things will change : Get people in government positions that can change things, starting from local and working on up, pressure the government with peaceful protests and boycotts (if possible??) that forces change, or we turn on them, taking back our government. The last option I don't see happening anytime soon, and hopefully it doesn't. We have plenty of other resources to use before we even get close to that option.
Sorry, mild tangent there.
