Riding from Myrtle Beach SC to Georgetown SC we passed this flag, on top of a slight hill in the middle of nowhere. Thought it was a majestic sight.

TG just off Winyah Bay, alligators roam these waters and it is about 1/2 mile from Front Street in Georgetown a beautiful southern town. In 1989 Hurricane came ashore in the small town of McClellanville SC about 20 miles south of here. G'town had a 46' sail boat sitting in the middle of Front Street.

On our return to NC we passed through this little town that time has forgotten. BTW if you are ever in this area, about 10 miles south of Liberty Hill SC on HWY 97 there is a place that serves the best hamburgers in the state. Can't miss it, just before you cross Lake Wateree on the right, think the name was River Deck.

I wish more would see the beauty of SC and the deep south history as well. I know all those locations mentioned and have rode them many time. Next go around see Beaufort and Huntington Island and try the crab shack for blues and ice cold beer (easy on the beer ) .

Love Beaufort, honeymooned there for a week 25 years ago at the Rhett House. Don't know the name of the place, but we use to go to a little downtown bar in the evenings for the crab races. Kinda crazy thing to do but the beer was ice cold and the music was great and it was the only game in town..
We went to Winnsboro today, other than a good ride not much to see in W'boro. We were looking for something other than fast food to eat but never found it, but did see the oldest continuous operating clock in the US....yoo-hoo.!!

Love the low country. My husband is a McClellan and his Dad always told him that they exiled all the bad McClellans to McClellanville. So we did check it out when we were down there, but couldn't see any signs that his dad was telling the truth..LOL! It was a fun side trip though and very quaint.
