    Default Blocking fob signals

I usually give a second set of keys to a riding buddy, but going solo to Canada and I want to put a second set of keys in my tourpac, but I want to keep the fob from broadcasting to the security module. I don't think aluminum foil will work. What can I wrap or put the keys in that will block the signals? A non aluminum metal container maybe??
How about taking the battery out? Will I have to have the fob reprogramed again when I put the battery back in?

    Turn the battery around.

It will be fine, no reprogramming needed

Something to keep in mind....I did the same thing for a while until I realized that if I lost the keys I was carrying, the spare set would be locked inside the tourpac.

I used to hide a key(only) under the seat , pull the battery from the fob and put in my luggage. You really don't need the fob to start the bike but you will need a key if you locked the fork.

Put the spare FOB (either with the battery pulled or in backwards) in the tour pac and then what I do when I travel is carry my extra key on a dog-tag chain around my neck.

    OR
You could program a code into your module and use the turn signal buttons to override the security. Works great, you don't have to carry an extra clicker, or keys around your neck. Follow the directions in your owners manual, or google them up on the net. I've started my trike in the garage a couple times with the fob on the key hook just inside the house. Kind of in a jam at therestaurantt after breakfast.

Being the paranoid clown I am I carry a key/fob in one pocket, another one in other pocket and usually have key without fob clipped to belt for most use. I have dropped a key in grass in the past. No fun searching with a migraine. Always carry 2 sets for cars too. Rentals always drive me over the brink with only one key.

I'll side with Screwball on this one. We should all know our 5 digit code and how to use it. The key to unlock things is an another matter though. I've been known to twist tie one under a side cover.

There's nothing in the tourpac to steal so I never lock it. You still need the key with the fob . I always forget what numbers I put into that turn signal system.

I like the reverse battery solution

Use the pin number for your bank card then repeat the last number to get 5 digits.
For those that can't remember the way to use the turn signals, there is an app for the Android phones that is called "V Twin Reference" that gives you step by step.
It also has most of the diagnostic codes & much more information. Quite handy ! Send an email to threeten@gmail.com for information. I think I found it on the v-twin forum. Can't remember.............. age maybe.

I don't have a bank pin number. As a matter of fact, I don't have any pin numbers. When I got my new Visa card a couple weeks ago, there was somethiong about my pin number - I threw the letter away. Not interested in pin numbers.

Just a suggestion folks; don't carry your FOB in the same pocket as your smartphone. They cause interference with each other in many cases. Just a thought
