So is anyone else having problems with the relay thingy for the fan? Mine is causing the fan to not come on and for trike to run hot. This is second time it is going to the factory for this situation. Third total trip to dealership to handles issues. I am not real happy at the moment. Starting to wish I had gone different route in my trike selection process.

I had considered doing a cross country trip on it for my birthday two weeks ago but changed my mind and I am so glad I did. I took it out for a ride this last weekend and wound up broke down on side of road again and having to wait for trailer. And I was planning a trip end of next month to pick up my daughter in Houston and spend a couple of nights in Galveston but now I am afraid to do that either.

That's not a good story, sure hope they can fix this thing. Three trips, that's way too many. Being concerned about riding your trike for the same problem multiple times totally sucks. Ya buy it to ride, not find a home in the shop.

a friend of mine bought a new stallion early this year his relay for his fan went out
we swaped out another relay so he could make it home. same problem again .taking it back to factory tuesday .he also scared to take trip

I don't know about the relay "thingy" you're referring to, but chances are better than not that your problem is the failure of the temperature sensor that triggers the fan to come on and off as the coolant heats up and than cools down. I've had two of them replaced. I'm on the third sensor which I replaced myself. The key is to not over tighten the sensor, which I've been told leads to its premature failure. In addition to replacing the sensor, I wired in a bypass switch, which bypasses the sensor and provides a path to ground so that I can start the fan manually whenever the temperature gauge reads that the engine is starting to over heat, should the sensor ever fail again. The temperature sensor is located in the coolant line on the right rear side of the Stallion. Removing the right rear wheel allows easier access to the sensor.

There's a wire, I think it's blue, connected to the sensor. Disconnect this wire from the sensor and attach a jumper wire to it and the other end of the jumper wire to a good ground (-) on the Stallion. Turn on the ignition switch and the fan should turn on. This would indicate a bad temperature sensor. The sensor is nothing more than a switch that makes a connection to ground when the coolant temperature reaches its high turn on temperature and disconnects from ground when the coolant temperature cools back to normal operating temperature. If the fan does not come on, your problem is likely elsewhere. I hope this helps you solve your Stallion's over heating problem.

I had the same problem on a 1200 mile trip. As luck would have it I was just 40 miles from home. Turned the air on and the fan came on so I just wired in a switch to ground and hooked it into the light blue wire that goes to the sensor and could operate it manually if the sensor didn't work. The first day out it was very hot so I had to use it a few times but after that the sensor turned the fan on most of the time. The only pain is that you have to keep your eye on the gauges which we should be doing anyway. I am going to replace the sensor but I will be leaving that switch in place in case of future problems. I wired the fan on my 80 Chevy Citation the same way, so I had control of it. The temp gauge (extra) would go way to high for my liking before the fan would kick in.

Is it the relay or the fuse? I did have a fuse pop for the cooling fan once, so far. It's a 2013 and not many miles

I am a curious potential Stallion customer. Does anyone know how many stallions were sold last year?

I was told when I ordered my 2013, which I have, that there were going to be 150 produced. I don't know if that number is accurate or how many carryovers are out there.

The story I got was that TMS found 150 of the 4 cylinder Ranger truck engines in a Ford warehouse somewhere. Since that engine is no longer available, when those are gone they will have to come up with another engine choice. That is why the production will be limited to 150.

I have 1067 miles on my 2013. With all these stories, looks like I have plenty to watch out for!

NONE !!! they were out of engines for almost 2 years but back in business again and also still looking into another engine to fit the frame for future Stallions as I understand it.

Friend of mine had relay problems sent it to factory all they did was change from 30 amp to 50 amp relay i dont think that is a fix just a band aid on 2013
stallion was in shop more than on road

I was running the a/c.....

I haven't had much of a chance to ride mine lately but since last visit to dealer it is working great! with the exception that on the ride home from dealer I used a/c and it seemed to lose a lot of power when compressor went on. I haven't used a/c since.

Hi Paul I got to Cedar City late Wed. afternoon and when I pulled into the Crystal Inn and standing in the parking lot was Bert and Dianna. I talked to them for a while then went on to Kanab.
I had a great trip with Stan and the gang to both the north rim and the south rim of the Grand Canyon then had to head home Saturday.
Lost a ladder bar on the way home just out of Page Az. rented a trailer in Kanab and brought the trike home on Monday. I am back on the rode again now and looking forward to the camping trip. Darrell
