First, let me tell you that we had a great time at the rally. We really hesitated to go being rookies and all, but we are glad we did. Special thanks to kwputt and olbandit, and their better halves, for putting up with us and taking us under their wings. Great people. Now the story. We are sitting in front of the motel room enjoying conversation with some adult beverages when suddenly the ground shook and I spilled my beverage on myself. Of course no one else had felt anything, but seemed to rather enjoy my predicament. Well, it nessitated going up to my room for cleaning up which I did. I then went to return to the get together when I discovered I was locked in my room. Part of the door latch had failed and there was no way out of the room.
So, now what? I called my wifes cell, which promptly rang on the dresser right beside me. OK that did no good, so with no other choice I call the front desk and explain that I was locked inside my room. The clerks reaction was, "No your not". Well, after some convincing she came down to check for herself. She found me locked in my room. She then said she would be right back, and promptly left. Anyhow, long story short, two clerks and 30 minutes later, I was released through a neighboring room after waking those people up from a sound sleep. When I finally got back to the group my wife told me that she was wondering where I was at, and of course no one believed that I had been locked in my room, and don't ask how we finally got back in our room, 2 hours later.
