Do I have to pull the clutch to replace the compensator

I am considering changing the compensator on an 05 HD Ultra trike with a SE 103 twin. Do I have to pull the clutch, too?

I've seen a YouTube video where the mechanic didn't have to pull the clutch, only the adjuster. If so, I just might decide to do the install myself and save some money, too.

Depends how stretched out your chain is and the compensator..you Still may need to pull the clutch. Once you open up the primary you will find out fast.

Better check the fitment I do not believe the SE compensator will fit your 05. It is designed for the 06 dyna and 07 and newer

You are 100% correct, the SE compensator will only fit 06 to present Dyna & 07 to present Touring. The old style compensator doesn't have the issues the newer ones do.

Yes, I believe you are correct.
I assumed my 103 was a complete SE engine, but instead the HD stock engine was bored out, the cams and heads were replaced to create the 103. It appears as if I have a hybrid on my hands. I don't know if that is good or bad...maybe a mix of both.
There is no compression release that I can see, so I doubt if they were installed.
The trike goes to the shop today for them to look see. All I know it will most likely cost alot of $.
Thanks for your reply.
