would it be possible

Hi there Peoples:
I'm just wondering if it would be possible for a Hannigan trike to get out of alinement for I was reading on another web trike sight some people are having problems {different type of kit }. So has anyone every had this problem with their trike. Myself I've only had mine for a few months here, {6 months }. Would this be something to check per say.
Good question Bill. I haven't had mine as long as you so no idea there. I do know a fellow VR member with 70-80K on his 06 Hannigan /Yamaha trike and hasn't had to do anything to his setup. I'd do a annual check for loose bolts etc. & take it from there myself.

Thanks there Larry, well I'm not having problems at this time anyways. When I was down to Florida last month I stopped in at Hannigans on way home and they told me everything was still tight and in good shape but kind of make ya wonder about some of these kits. Last weekend only a short hope up to Sudbury and back. We have our Canadian Vietnam Memorial ride here in Windsor come on over if your not busy.
Currently at about 3500 miles on a MT kit with no problems. Installer provided a "1000 mi check" to re-check installation, bolt torques, etc. Everything OK. Problems seem unlikely if it was a "quality" install.

To answer your question, YES, it is possible to go out of alignment, not likely though for many miles. The tie rod ends could wear out, bolts come loose... Alignment can be checked using 2- 8' flourescent bulbs and a tape measure. I have the specs and procedure, if you really want it I can dig it up.

Thanks for the offer there Rags, I'm not in need at this time. I've put on over 9K. sense I got this rig back in January and its been good. Love the handling but I'll certainly keep an eye on things just in case.
Interesting. We've all seen cars that track down the road slightly sideways, like a dog, so it's conceivable a trike could do the same.

Could it be that the trike in the thread you saw was in an accident that could have bent something? My Hannigan has over 32K on it with no sign of tracking problems, if that helps.

No accident Jax, the trike was sagging on one side and others mentioned to him that he might have shock problems. The fellow checked them and all was good. Found out at a dealer that part of the sub frame had slipped out abit causing trike to sag on one side. He mentioned that the shop had put paint marks on bolts and they were not lining up when checked. Glad I have a Hannigan here...Evering is tight.
Oh by the way can't remember how long this fellow had his trike but don't think it was very long time.
