Hello. I am basically a new rider. I learned how to ride on a Honda Shadow Spirit 01 and did pretty good due to my limitations when my MS (Multiple Sclerosis) targets my legs and I loose them.<br />

I now have a Yamaha Vstar 01 with a Voyager Conversion Kit on it. Any advise on how to handle a trike would be welcomed. I have figured out that you do not counter steer or lean like on 2 wheels. I am slowly understanding how to handle the trike. Work in progress.

My biggest "trouble" about riding a trike had to do with managing centrifugal force. Once I learned where and how to place my body, shoulders and arms through turns, I really began to adapt to 3 wheels very quickly. A couple hundred miles on your trike will make a huge difference in how you feel while riding. Take it slow, ride your own ride, and enjoy!

Welcome from Southern Illinois tsglaser. It wont take long to master your ride. One thing to remember in turns its push pull. Left hand curve, pull with the left arm and push with the right. On the right arm you are pushing with lock you elbow and it will take stress off your left arm and off your shoulders. I never lean, some say they lean. Good luck.

Welcome Ts. Takes a little time to get used to. Just put countersteering out of your head. I find trikes ride like ATV's. I tend to lean into turns anyways. Just to keep my center of personal gravity in there. Of course, I tend to take corners fast for the fun of it.

Welcome to trike Talk, Best advise is to take your time and find a big parking lot and get use to the feel of turning the trike and the rest will fall into place.pepper
