Davis Rally, weekend after Labor Day

Was going through the calender and noticed that it is just a few months to our yearly trip to Minnesota to see family and friends, and hit the Davis Rally in New Hampton, Iowa. Never too early to plan a good time!

This is a great rally at the end of the summer, lots of vendors, usually around 3000 or more people show and it is well run by the Davis family. This will be the 35th annual rally. If you are in the area, or need a good ride to the middle of the country, it is a great time with a lot of good folks attending. Our first time was in 1994, and we haven't missed since 1999. We have never left the rally without having a fine time and some new friends.

As usual, we will be heading there on Wednesday, but instead of setting up camp over the horseshoe pits, as our group has done for the last 15 years, we have rented Shelter #6 for shade, rain protection (hope it's not needed), electicity and proximity to the restooms. If you are going and aren't with a group already you are more than welcome to camp with us. Hope to see some of y'all there! Here is a map of Mikkelson Park, the rally grounds for the weekend.

Ozarkryder, I live in New Hampton. Just bought an 05 Wing with a Lehman trike kit. I'll have to look you up in a few weeks. Our trike is silver.

We were there a couple years ago and had a great time.
The draw back for us was that we couldn't find any place close to stay,had to stay eighteen miles away.

If you camp this is a great rally because you can camp on site
We check hotels for the following year while we were there but found that everyone books there room for the next year before they check out.

We might try again next year because we did have a good time, just want to stay closer.

Just a few weeks until the Davis Rally. Starting to get anxious, I look forward to this event every year like a kid looks forward to Christmas. Our group have rented shelter #6, we are camping this year east of the big parking lot just north of the skateboard park. If you are planning to attend and don't have a place to camp or a group to camp with (Jim and Sandy? Bob and Linda?), you are more than welcome to join us, or just stop in to say hello.

Started in 1990 and have not missed a year.
I'm having a F4+4 put on first thing.
We used to camp but stopped when it got to crowded.
Always stay in West Union now.

Thanks for the offer Don, but have a weeding that weekend. My nephew for the second time.Go figure. Would like to make it some year. Maybe next. Will be retired then. Have fun.

Y'all are REALLY lucky the rally is next week, and not this week. It's hot and humid here, supposed to cool down nicely by Monday. Just in time for the rally. Instead of high 90's, expect mid 80's.

May have to try to make it this year, been 3 years since I was there. May have to take the trike for a ridepepper. Have to look for a new wind shield and audio cables for the BMW.
